If not already done replace the fuel filter in the tank, it is obviously fuel starvation, if no better increase the the fuel mixture on the H and L screws ( turn anti clockwise 1/4 turn on each to start with)
First I would start with the fuel filter, was that replaced too?, then I would make sure you have fresh gas and a new spark plug, Probably what I would suggest next is to pull your carb off and take apart and clean it with carb cleaner, most likely you will find dirt and possible small fragments from rotten fuel lines,partially plugging the inlet screen in carb, also your diaphram could be stretched, wouldn't hurt to pur carb kit in it while it is apart, I have just cleaned them before and been o.k. this should help you out
A common dust problem happens when refueling under dusty and windy conditions while cutting, sawdust gets into the tank and coats the fuel filter in there with a paper thin coating of sawdust. The saw now can't **** through that layer any more, so you have to choke to get even a little gas through. Take it apart, pull the filter off the line and blow it out from the line side and swish it in a can of gas to get it clear again. Now you will get lots of gas!
Unfortantaly its awaly the carb with this kind of tool Its a two stroke so you mix oil in the gas then it sits aruond for a couple of years until you need it and the oil gas mixture gets gummy and sticks the neddle valve witch lets the fuel into the float bowl and also shuts it off Try this get some starter fluid get the thing running on choke and spray it into the carb it may clean up some of your problems But the best thing to do is take apart the carb and clean it then it should work like new and its realy not that hard to do and you don;t need any new parts it can be done on a table in 20 minutes
Get some sta-bil fuel stabilizer. add twice the amount recommended on the bottle for storage to your mixed gas. Empty out chainsaw tank and refill with the new mix. Rub for 2 minutes, then shut off. Remove cover over carb and spray inside carb, soaking it down good and cleaning all internal surfaces visible - allow to sit overnight. Next day Spray down carb with carb cleaner for about 15 seconds. Start saw, allowing 2 minutes to warm up and reduce choke. If saw stalls, restart and spray inside carb as it runs with choke on - keep motor at the highest rpms you can as you spray - spray in 2 second bursts, not allowing motor to stall from spray. If it stalls, change sparkplug and try again. You have varnish build up in the carb and are trying to remove it so the carb will work without the choke. This may take some time but it is the exact procedure I used for my Poulan Team Realtree last spring - I spent about an hour spraying and staring before it ran without the choke. Good luck!!
Clean the muffler spark arrestor screen and check the cylinder port for carbon build-up at the upper edge. Try presetting both carburetor H and L adjustments (from lightly CW stops) 1-1/2 turns CCW each. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle wide open and adjust H CW until the engine speed increases, but still 4-stroking. Correct setting is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Allow to idle and adjust L for smoother running, yet allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Set idle speed to keep the engine running, but doesn't try to move the chain. You may have to look closer at your carburetor if the above doesn't help. It is running lean. There is an air leak somewhere allowing to much air into the cylinder or crankcase. Continuing to operate lean may cause failure. If fuel delivery lines have no pin holes or cracks probably time for some professional help (pressure tests). Remove clean and reinstall the muffler (carbon fouling can also cause this). If the saw cannot exhale, it cannot inhale. HTH
Remove the air filter, squirt a little fuel into the carb. Start and let run if it will for a few minutes. Could be you had some water in old fuel. and it is still in the intake of saw. If it still will not run after squirting some fuel into carb. You have a firing problem.
