SOURCE: jumbo universal remote

I found that on the back of the 2205 it said that the unit was made by Funai. I looked in the Innovage book and found that the codes for Funai DVD are 231 and 233. 233 worked on mine. Good luck.

grace0308, Many of the combo units have multiple video outputs and some, like the SVHS and RGB Component outputs, are for DVD only. Make sure that you are plugged into the proper video output. Play a tape and try them all.

SOURCE: need code,so my dish remote will work with magnavox vcr/dvd

Such a code may or may not exist. If none of the codes listed in your owners manual work (you didn't list a model number so I can't give you specifics)you have 3 options. 1) Contact DishNetwork and see if they have additional codes not listed in the manual. 2) Contact Magnavox and see if the have additional codes to try. 3) Purchase a 3rd party remote that works with both devices.

I have surroundsound. I have dish network with hd dvr. I have a sony bravia hd tv. I have a dvd player, and cd player. I have a magnavox dvd recorder. I want to record from my dvr to my dvd recorder. ...

To get the functionality you're looking for you'll need to to take the cable running from your DVR output and connect it to the input on your DVD recorder. Next you want to connect a cable from your DVD recorder output and connect it to your TV. If this is an HD set up you want to use HD Cables for all of the connections.

We have a Magnavox VCR/DVD player. When pressing the VCR/DVD button it will not switch from VCR to DVD.

I have found this to be a problem with my Magnavox MWD2205. It seems to be a problem that Magnavox (actually FUNAI CORP.) can't seem to understand and fix on their machines.

1. Pick up your remote and press the video button.
2. Press the DVD button.
3. Press the Video button.
4. Press the DVD button.

That simple. This usually works but no guarantee.

Also check on the back of you player and see what cable you have connected. Often times S-Video will be plugged in and so VCR won't function. Or VCR composite video (the little yellow round port) will be plugged in and so your digital DVD won't function either. Make sure that whatever media format you choose that your ports correspond with the chosen format.

I have a magnavox mwd2205 dvd/vcr combo with no remote. I've tried programming it to my Charter cable remote and to a GE universal remote, but can't get it to do anything but turn the machine on and off....

This DVD/VCR isn't compatible with the GE Universal remote. Sorry.

I would recommend contacting Magnavox (actually FUNAI CORP.) at www. magnavox.com, and seeing if they would be willing to send you a remote that was compatible with your player. There was another Magnavox player remote that also worked with Magnavox MWD2205. So it's possible that a number of remotes would work for you. Good luck! :)

My remote for MWD2205 dvd/vcr player won't do anything except open and close dvd door. I bought it used and it didn't come with instructions.

Hi dear,
Please use the remote very close to the dvd so that the dvd player can receive the signal properly. This can happen with low quality dvd players. If the problem persists, then consult to a dvd player mechanics to replace your remote.

Thanks.
