Question about Breville Die Cast 800ESXL Espresso Machine
As with others who Emailed Fixya, my Breville 800 machine, not in warranty, now turns on when plugged in without pressing the ON button. ..or with the ON button being lit. It seems not to pump water into the heat chamber, but bypasses it down the chute tube into the overflow pan, emptying the machine.
1. What can I do about this problem?
2. Is there an instruction for disassembly? I checked the available screws and can't dope out how it comes apart. ...but if I can open it up, I can at least check valving, relays (if any). ....check PC board, for output voltage, etc.
3. ...may be a programming error, but no reset procedure seems to be provided in the manual. ??
4. If faulty parts are identified, where does one obtain parts?
5. If all above isn't practical or 'iffy', where can I obtain service? ..preferably in the Phoenix area, but can ship if necessary
Thanks for any help you can give me.
It is like a Electrical Problem. Check with connections and cables. One touch conversion from closed to open mode; the one touch grill dial simplifies the transformation from press mode to Open BBQ with the engagement of an automatic reset feature on return to press mode. Try to change these modes

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Tips for a great answer:
Feb 02, 2014 | Breville The Barista Express BES870XL...
I've had same problem twice
Once Breville fixed under duress as just out of warranty and no parts
Last week same problem.
I tracked problem down to the big yellow 1.5uf 280v capacitor on the power supply board.
It wasn't passing enough current
when plugged in the 24volts and 5 volts were OK
when pressing the On button the Heater relay calls and on light flashes the 24 volt drops to 11volts and the 5v to 4v
Once up to heat the 24 voltage rises to 14v
when you press the steam button there the 14vis no enough to call the heater relay and the seam light just keeps flashing.
I replaced the faulty capacitor and all good coffee and steam
