I had the same issue a while back. Turns out one of my speaker wires had a pinch in it that shorted when the volume got too high. Try replacing each wire with a short length one at a time until it no longer happens and then change out that entire length.

Hopefully this is the fix you need, because it is certainly the cheapest one I know of!!

Onkyo ht-rc180 standby light blinks will not start.i tryed factory reset, still blinks

The amp protection circuit has been activated. Remove the power cord from the wall outlet immediately. Disconnect all speaker cables and input sources, and leave the AV receiver with its power cord disconnected for 1 hour. After that, reconnect the power cord and reconnect an input and a pair of speaker wires onto the unit. If the receiver still does not turn on than you will have to bring it in for service. Turn up the volume and if the receiver doesn't shut down, power off the receiver and add another pair of speakers. Power up the unit again and turn up the volume. If it doesn't shut down, power off the unit again. Now connect all your input sources and turn on your receiver. If the unit shuts down again, your unit will need to be further serviced at an authorized Onkyo service center.

Blinking redlight over temp gauge on 2006 grand caravan sxt

This light warns of an overheated engine condition. If the engine is critically hot, a continuous chime will sound for 4 minutes. After the chime turns off, the engine will still be critically hot until the light turns off. does the symbol look like a thermometer? of so, that is what is is. If it's just a dot blinking, it's the security system. Does that help?

Turns on for a few secons then shuts down

look inside one of the smaller caps may look like a mushroom... fix that and it could be your lucky day.. if its' the power i.c. in front you will need to do more... only problem everything has to be remove to get to that cap to unsolder it. labor will cost more than what the unit is worth.

I have a Kenwood VR-804 surround system receiver. Stand by light keeps blinking when turned on but no sound no nothing when turned on just powers up for a few seconds then shuts off with light blinking. I...

Blinking indicates that the power source has shut itself down because another component has died and it's shorting it. Unless you have experience in electronics it's time to take the receiver to a repair shop.

The idicator on my sony srt db930 reciever protector turn on.

There are a number of problem detection circuits inside the unit that will shut it down to prevent further damage. The most common cause of this is either crossed speaker wires or internally shorted output transistors. Try removing the speaker wires completely. If the unit still starts with the protect message, then the problem is internal to the unit. For these models, the output transistors usually cost in the $8-$15 range each and are replaced in complimentary pairs. Without taking internal measurements, I can not state that this is your exact problem, but it is the most common. Add in your local labor rate to get your approximate repair cost. Dan

Denon AVR-4800 5.1Channel Standby light blinking

It's going into protect. Unhook ALL the speakers and see if it still shuts itself off. If so, then it will have to be taken in for service.

Kenwood VR-307 Receiver standby light blinking

Hello, sorry to say this, but there is a hardware error. Possibbly something is wrong at the output stage. Please send it to tech for a repair. But first disconnect the speakers and then try to turn it on. If there is no change the error is still present. Best regards. Arpi
