Try turning it on and looking at the spindle to make sure the belt is not broken and it is spinning.

How do I clear a blockage

Try removing your hose from the bag housing (pinch retaining ring and pull out) and re-inserting in reverse order. Turn the vacuum on and suck the clog into the bag. This will usually clear a clog from the hose. If the clog is in the power head (base), you can usually access it from the top side of the swivel neck or the orange access door on the bottom of the chassis.

Is there a switch that reverses from sucking air in to blowing air out

No there are NOT switch Normally this motor from AC, doesnot have this device for reverse. Only you can do it by open the motor and chaging the connections
Now you must shure the a) hose is clogged b) bag is clogged c) or there another thing maybe a sock. please use the common sense
However you can go to the web page from kenmore and see your instr. manual download:

My Kirby is blowing out not sucking in how do I change this?

Either there is a blower option on the vacuum cleaner that needs to be set back to where it belongs, or somebody changed the brushes on the motor and got the brush or field wire connections reversed (one or the other, but not both).

I have a sharp twin energy, the hose isn't sucking very well, and just today it had a burnt plastic smell

This sounds like something is plugging the air flow. You need to take apart until you find it. Air flow also cools your unit.

Kirby g2000 not picking up dirt

It is most likely the belt. You cannot reverse the suction. First check to see if the bag is expanding when running. If the bag is blowing up then it is the belt if not it is clogged just take the bag off from the vacuum and remove the head you will see the obstruction.

Did you check the inlet down by the brush roll?

Hoover doesn't suck well

Did you check the inlet from the bottom? Take the bottom plate off, make sure that the tube(inlet)is free of any clogs. Also if the belt is stretched, then it won't drive the brush roll like it should, replace it part #38528033.
