Try to use lense cleaner.........................

If that wld wrk, its perfect........................

You can replace the DVD drive with a new one. Liteon makes the original one. I replaced mine when it did the same thing. I used a Liteon 16X drive (overkill) to do so. It worked fine. Just do not update the firmware later for the drive. The original drive used a rubber belt for a drive and it stretches very quickly. You can also replace the belt on the drive but that is chancy. I would go for the drive replacement.

Hello schmidt755,

I am assuming this is a copied disc? Try it in a differnet DVD player, if it;s readable in another player the problem is the actual disc and not your player. DVD players are notorious for only reading certain disc types. If it's a dvd-rw it's most likely the player will NOT read it.

Hope this helps.

Insert disk all i get i load then it eject disk

Well it seems that your DVD player is having an issue reading the disc, I guess the first question is what kind of disc are you trying to insert? Is it a burned DVD or is it a movie dvd? This model is not a Blu Ray so if you are trying to use a Blu Ray disc then it will not read it. If you are trying to read a burned disc from someone then more then likely the disc was not finalized and is unable to recognize the disc, because the finalization process is where all the the information is written about what kind of disc it is and the format, codecs, etc. OR maybe the laser is dirty or the DVD player has kicked the bucket. Finally, the product DESC says it can read DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD+R, VHS formats, but I have found that some DVD units do not like certain brands of Blank DVDs. I hope this offers some ideas for you and good luck!

Unable to read disc

question is that the only disc its not reading or you have tried other disc, if you tried other disc then you should return it for the lense to be changed if not check the disc properly and make sure it has no scratch, also you can try another CD/DVD disk format. the player might be selected for particular format

Wii unable to read dvd

Hi,

Try cleaning the lens with an approved laser lens cleaner.Check to see if you can hear the disc being spun. If not, the spindle motor is bad.If your discs are spinning but aren't being read, your laser could be damaged. Contact Nintendo for service, unless you're comfortable replacing the laser yourself. Buy one on line and get it replaced.

Thank you!

CD-RW drives can only read all CD-rom and CD-RW formats and read DVD formats but cannot write to a DVD, if you want to write a DVDs you need to buy a DVD-RW burner which can burn all CD-formats

R40 DVD Read Problem

Unable to read a CD-R or other recordable disc. DVD recordable discs - If you have a DVD recordable disc and are unable to get it to read verify that the DVD drive is not a Gen 1 DVD drive and/or that it .

Computer DVD Support The DVD technology is very different from the technology used in standard CD-ROM drives. DVD uses shorter wavelength lasers to read smaller pits and lands.

Computer CD-ROM drive help and technical information. However, DVD-RAM discs cannot be read by standard DVD-ROM drives because of the differences in both reflectivity of the medium and the data format.

Play station 2 won't read silver disc only reads blue disc

Hi Elvis,

The Blue back disc is CD format. The DVD laser circuit is giving you trouble. You can adjust the DVD pot some on the back of the Laser. Turn it about 3 degrees clockwise. Then put it the laser back in. Test the PS2 with no cover on, and use the white round disc from the laser drive cover to clamp a disc onto the spindle. Test DVD and PS2 Games that do not have Blue back.
