Just picked one up at staples today. Same problem no matter what I tried. I called tech support, and they said they said its defective. And they want a credit card and it will take 5-7 days business days to send a new one out. To hell with them. Will return it and get a different brand.

Basic things to do is ::>>

1.) Turn off the power
2.) Check for any obstructions in the printer ( packaging tapes )
3.) One thing different about the Artisan 800 with other Printers is that.... it has a yellow plastic ( rectangular in shape with an inch and a half in length ) that needs to be moved or transferred to diff location in the printer..

NOTE ::>> IF ISSUE STILL PERSIST > CALL Epson Tech Support
for warranty options and procedures or have it returned or replaced from where purchased the printer....

I don't know how to disable "keep printed documents". I have an Artisan 800 series printer.

Hi Michelle,

Follow the steps below and you will be able to fix the issue.

Click on START button
Click on Control Panel ( or Settings for windows XP )
Click and open Printers and Faxes ( or Printer folder icon )
Highlight the Printer icon and Right click on it
Left Click on Printer properties
Click on Advanced TAB on top and look for "Keep Printed Documents"
If there is a Check mark, you can Uncheck it.
If there is no check mark on it, Check mark it.
Click Apply/OK and Close the window and try to print.

If this does not resolve the issue, Try the step below

1. Open Printers and Faxes.

2. Right mouse click on the Epson printer and left click Properties.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Click the Print Processor button.

5. Under Print Processor, select WinPrint.

6. Under Default Datatype, make sure RAW is selected. Click OK.

7. Back on the Advanced tab remove the check next to Keep Printed
Documents.

8. Click Apply and OK.

Keeps saying paper cassette no set correctly or objects blocking path

I was also stuck with this error message for a while. It turned out to be a 4x6 photo paper got stuck in back in a place that was not easily visible. I had to detach the double-sided paper module from the back, tilt the printer on its side and reach in with fingers and pliers to pull it out. The error message was correct, that something was blocking the cassette tray even though you could push the tray all the way in!

My Epson Artisan 810 prints horizonal light blue lines on all printed materials. How to remove the blue lines?

To resolve this issue, you need to print a nozzle check pattern and then determine if print head cleanning is need.
To print nozzle check, follow the steps below.
  1. Turn off the Artisan Series and your computer, if connected.
  2. Disconnect any connected USB cables.
  3. Load plain paper in the main tray.
  4. Press the On button to turn the Artisan 800 Series on again.
  5. Press Setup.
  6. Select Maintenance.
  7. Select Nozzle Check.
  8. Press Start.
  9. The Artisan Series begins printing the nozzle check pattern.
  10. If there are no gaps, select Finish Nozzle Check.
If there are gaps, select Head Cleaning.
If the nozzle check pattern page prints correctly, the problem may be with your software settings, the interface cable, or your computer.

My Artisan 800 only prints the top inch of the page - the rest of the page is blank. This is true regardless of the function: print or copy or fax, so I don't think it's related to the computer. Ink...

My Artisan 800 was doing this and I realized it was because I was using three hole punched paper. I think the printer sees the top hole and thinks the paper has run out and cancels the rest of the page. Big engineering goof Epson.

On epson artisan 800, turn on and starts but after 10 seconds it says scanner error and says turn off and restart,... does this every time and never stays on.

From what I've seen so far on the web (and what the user guide tells me) the printer needs to be repaired. I've got the same problem w/an Artisan 700 that has had ***very*** light use.
