Question about HP Computers & Internet
When you swich on the laptop push f10 to get in to bios, there is a feature to test the HDD(there was on a hp laptop few days ago), see if that says anything useful (that should take a while), and try to change the boot sequence at boot options, first should be the cd/dvd rom than the hdd. This way your pc will try to boot from cd first, if nothing than Hdd is next.
Than you should be able to boot from your CD, if not than open up your PC case and chack the cables, take off the power and data cables and reattach them, sometimes it does the trick.
Worst case scenario is that your HDD is dead, if you got warrenty left than use it, if not than buy a new one from the local store or order one from ebay or zipzoomfly, just check what type do you need, the size is up to you, even 500GB drives are quite cheap nowdays. You need to open up your pc and check what type of cable is going to the HDD it can be IDE or SATA to know for sure what type of HDD you need.
