Question about Electronics - Others
My korg 05r/w has stopped receiving midi. I have tried numerous things and resolutions but nothing works. I used loads of external synths and I am running cubase 4 on pc (win xp). I have tried it direct and via my amt8. if I put another device onto the same port, that other device works fine. As soon as the korg goes in, I put it in Global/Multi and nothing happens. Demos and alike plaback ok and the screen lights up, but no response from midi. Can you please help.
Time to try a Factory Reset. If that does not work, your MIDI-driver chip inside is probably gone. Time for a Techie...

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Midi is data only, there is no actual sound to the midi tracks themselves. They need to be assigned to either a software synth or an external synth to actually make the sounds you want to hear.
For instance if you load a demo of a midi sequance you will need to add a software synth such as the TTS-1 or Roland sound canvas which are general midi compatable and will play the instruments sounds assigned to the demo's midi channels. Use the Synth Rack feature in Sonar to open one of them. Then you will need to assign the output of each of the midi tracks to that particular synth and you will get sound. Make sure to assing the synth's audio track to you UA-25 as its audio output.
I would suggest reading in the manual and following the tutorials included in the manual to get yourself familier with how this is all done.

There is a solution that reads and writes on CF cards. It's call HDM uniflash or something like that.
I didn't try in my xp50, but others says it works.
A bit expensive for my taste, and maybe just for handy hands...

SOURCE: I recently bought a Korg
check the firewall in both places in control panel ..and on the antivirus if it has...and try to turn it off and see if it works ..cause if you have the correct driver and the software ..and it is seen already ..
check in device manager and see if ti is ok ..if it is in yellow it needs another driver cause it is not working ..look for the device by name ..
