Question about Microsoft Zune JS8-00001 Digital Media Player

Zune 30gb my zune will turn on but it wont allow me to access my music as soon as i turn it on the message on the screen says error 5 and it tells me to contact support. what is wrong and what should i do?

Hi if you are getting the error 5 contact support message your HD is going bad. You can try re loading the firmware but if that does not work then the HD will need to be replaced.

Zune freezes and says contact support


in order to fix this . you have to restart the device. to restart the device you press and hold back while also pressing and holding the top part of the zune pad until screen goes blank and zune logo appears this should work. if contact support comes back up try restoreing the device.

all of the zunes 30gb in the world went dead last night go to zune support.com and request a repair they will be helping you soon .

Zune screen is black and won't charge


you could have a bad charging cord and also you can try to turn the hold button on and off that sometimes works

Help My Zune Turns On But Blank Screen

I wanted to start a sticky thread to give you a place to discuss the issue with the Zune 30's freezing. Rather than hijacking other threads or creating tons of repeat threads, please post here if you want to discuss.

I just got an update from the team that I want to share with you. Great news! It looks like this issue will resolve itself over the next 24 hours. Please read the response below. Thank you all for your extreme patience with this!

Early this morning we were alerted by our customers that there was a widespread issue affecting our 2006 model Zune 30GB devices (a large number of which are still actively being used). The technical team jumped on the problem immediately and isolated the issue: a bug in the internal clock driver related to the way the device handles a leap year. The issue should be resolved over the next 24 hours as the time change moves to January 1, 2009. We expect the internal clock on the Zune 30GB devices will automatically reset tomorrow (noon, GMT). By tomorrow you should allow the battery to fully run out of power before the unit can restart successfully then simply ensure that your device is recharged, then turn it back on. If you’re a Zune Pass subscriber, you may need to sync your device with your PC to refresh the rights to the subscription content you have downloaded to your device.

Customers can continue to stay informed via the support page on zune.net (zune.net/support).

We know this has been a big inconvenience to our customers and we are sorry for that, and want to thank them for their patience.

Q: Why is this issue isolated to the Zune 30 device?
It is a bug in a driver for a part that is only used in the Zune 30 device.

Problem with zune player


It may be due to Non-safe removal of Zune device from PC during transfer of files.you may have deleted some music from your PC hard disk,which you tranfered omay be only the fake song/album file or artwork.check whether the file u trying to play is available in your pc.if you have downloaded directly to Zune then try again.

As a last resort or if you are receiving error code C00D2772, erase the device, and then sync your content again. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Zune software on the computer.
  2. Connect your Zune device by using the Zune Sync Cable.
  3. Click Settings, and then click device.
  4. Click SYNC OPTIONS, and then click ERASE ALL CONTENT.
  5. When you receive the following message, click Yes: Please Confirm. Are you sure you want to erase the contents of the connected Zune? You receive the "Erase All Content" message. This may take several minutes. Do not move or disconnect the Zune device until the message disappears.

Yes. There are several solutions to this. Rather than retype them, you may want to check out the forums at www.zune.net or support.microsoft.com.

Most likely you'll have to remove the Zune software from the PC, re-install it, reset the Zune.... I think you get the picture.
