The problem lies in the uninstall process this will leave a folder in the Program Files directory and in the folder called temp these folders especialy the one called temp leaves installed files remains this is a big isue with all installed programs and when you try and re-install again this is where all files get dumped before installation can continue please find this folder and select all files in this and delete and empty trash can then find the folder where norton was installed and delete this folder as well then run regedit and hunt for all keys that belong to norton security as when you re-install norton it first hunts for any keys you have in your reg and acts accordingly.

Once you've removed all traces of program then reboot pc and try again.

good luck

I am attempting to install Norton Internet Security 2009. My McAfee Internet Security 2008 runs out in two days. Norton has indicated that I will have to remove an amount of existing programmes (about 20!)...

Norton will not replace the programs.

As long as you have the program disc, just re-install them after installing Norton.

Back up all data (saved documents) first.

Cannot manage to load norton security programme

    hi there,

although, not specified what you did but i presume 2 actions:

    1. Running the program and cannot be completely loaded, it means that there's a program that block your Norton Internet Security 2008 to run, and that might be a Virus or Trojan. or someone is hacking in your pc (might be). and this will happen, if your Norton Internet Security 2008 is not updated and/or you install an internet plug ins in some of your visited website and through that plug ins the website administrator has a link in your pc to access, but not all.

solution: try to uninstall and fresh install your Norton Internet Security 2008 but before you do that make sure that you have a supported docs like cd key and response code from Norton if any, to successfully install your anti virus. and before you install, unplug your connection from internet (install offline, after installation, update it and scan your pc).

    2. you install your Norton Internet Security 2008 and cannot be completely loaded, it means that Norton program is corrupted. please have a fresh copy in cd if any and install it.

When I try to download attachments with my incoming emails, I receive "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage".

perhaps, the problem is due to some malware, scan and clean your system with a good updated anti-virus(i recommend bitdefender) and to avoid this in future, install an internet security(i recommend latest norton internet security).

I have a new Windows Vista and I need to uninstall Norton Internet Security 2008. I get so far until I reach "The system cannot find the path specified". I cannot get beyond this point -...

Sounds like the an unistall has already run and failed or the unistall files have been deleted. If possible reinstall completely and then uninstall. If none of this works try the norton removal tool found here http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
    Then follow the instructions
