Insert your flash disk into your computer right click on my computer on the desktop. Go to "Manage". On the left side of the Computer Management window click on Disk Management (under Storage). Then right click on the name of your flash drive (typically called the manufacturer's name, default, or removable media). Click on change drive letter and paths. Then click Change, and choose a drive letter that is not currently in use, any letter . Press OK twice to return to the computer management window, press the X, and you should be back at the desktop and able to access your flash drive

My Sanyo LCD 40XR10F TV does not recongnise any mp4 movies i have on my external hardrive or usb stick?? Does it matter what size usb disk/drive/how many files are stored on them for it to play them?

Before you loaded the hard drive, and USB did you run a "Check File System" through the TV? These devices in order to use the "Time Shift Function", have to have pass with "SUCCESS", displayed on the screen. If not the TV will format a 4GB FAT32 filing system for you. The reason your MP4's might not work might be due to a firmware update that no longer supports MP4. You should have been OK if you recorded the material from the TV. Items you record from the TV will not play on any other device. Using the FAT32 format only allows 4GB but, the TV allow 8GB and a external device can be FAT32 format to 8GB. 8GB is only 2 hours of viewing time. So that should give you some idea how little the amount of files can be handled.

Problems with pendrive data gets corrupted

Why not backup your remaining data from the pendrive. Then reformat your pendrive using full format. If it still behave like that , your pendrive is already giving up.

7D and CF2 Card Problem

I know it says to format the card in-camera but have you simply tried to use the card with the computer format? I have several 4 Gb cards for my camera (7D) and I have occasionally used the computer format without noticing any problems. Maybe you'll get lucky too.
