I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

Go into safe mode and remove any recently installed software (since the problem began) and any Windows updates. Or use the safe mode and restore to a previous date.

Can Acer Aspire AX1200-B1601A support a second internal hard drive?

The best way to be sure is to open the case and look.
(this will show you if the drive must be PATA or SATA as well)
But, according to Acer, there is room.
It also may be more effective to simply replace the primary drive with a larger capacity drive.

I put a new hard drive in my machine, and cannot access internet because it says this machine doesn't have any installed network adapters. How do I install?

Hello, presumably you've reinstalled Windows after fitting your new drive. Well, you have to find all the drivers for your machine including the chipset drivers (importantly you must install these 1st)) then your system will 'see' the adapter. If you don't have your driver cd's, then you must go to the web site of Acer (obviously from a machine that can access the internet!) and download all the relevant drivers to a memory stick or burn 'em to a cd, then install them onto your own system. My Acer Aspire AM5641 had the blue screen pop up one day and say that there was a hardware problem and Windows was forcing a shut down. Couldn't get it back up...just no signal to monitor. Checked...

If you have the system restore CDs or a restore partition you can try to do a repair install of windows through that. Let me know if you have the media or a partition and I can assist you further.

My ethernet driver is uninstalled how do i fix this problem i have a AX1200-B1601A

Go to Acer's support site: Click here

Choose your model in the dialog boxes. ("Notebook" ==> "Aspire" ==> "Aspire 1200")

Choose your Windows version in the "Operating System" drop-down box. Once done, download the Accton LAN driver in the scroll-box below.

Install the driver and restart your computer.

That should do it,

Why was the AX1200-U1640A discontinued. Thank you!

This model didn't do to well. With the other PC that they had in stock. You know that Acer also merged/bought Packard Bell, Gateway, and eMachine. They put an product out and if it doesn't sell immediate within the first month they revamp and work on the next. Hope you got a good deal.

PLEASE VOTE IF THIS IS HELPFUL. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS.

Computer start up problem

Capture the message that is displayed on the BSOD. There will be a bunch of numbers that will tell you what is wrong. I would open the side and re-seat the RAM and do a general cleaning of the fans.
Good luck!
