Check Fan 2

I ordered fan 2. I assume fan 1 is the one you can see when you remove the backing. Fan 2 is the one on the bulb assy. tray?

My TV sounds like the fan has gone bad. It sounds like a bicycle tire that has a playing card next to the spokes. If there are only two fans, and Fan #1 is the one you can see when you open the backing, then it has to be Fan #2 I have narrowed the sound comeing from next to the lamp assembly

How do i remove the fan and pulley on a 1987 ford ranger 2.9 v-6?

The question is: How remove clutch in order to remove fan mounted on its engine-side face.
  • Generally, the clutch drive half shaft must be uncoupled from coolant pump (impeller drive) half shaft using special wrench kit available as loaner from AutoZone (free with $79 approx deposit).
  • Best done after shroud & radiator remove after coolant drained.
  1. Uncouple coolant pump and fan clutch drive shaft(s) as follows:
    1. span across combo-pulley-sheaves-unit mounting bolt heads with large tool kit wrench, and
    2. span inline clutch coupling nut with small tool kit wrench. Then,
    3. turn small wrench (and coupling nut) CW while resisting with large wrench (CCW) to turn coupling nut until disengaged from coolant pump drive shaft.
  2. Remove fan/clutch assembly.
  3. Note direction of mounted fan hub and fan blades orientation to ensure proper re-assembly.
  4. On rear of clutch assy, remove 4 bolts to disengage and remove fan.
  5. Assemble new fan to clutch (or, preferably, new clutch and new fan) using new bolts and washers provided with fan.
  6. Couple fan-clutch assy to coolant pump drive shaft as per opposite of uncoupling step 1, above. (Turn inline nut CCW to tighten...30 ft-lb.
  7. Check that fan can be hand turned...CW.)
  8. Rest shroud over and onto fan.
  9. Replace radiator; remount shroud; reclamp hoses, and refill and air purge cooling system.

Replace cooling fans

On a scale of 1-10 this is a 5.
I assume you checked the fuses and have good reason to replace this assy.

Remove the plastic valance above the headlights by popping out the plastic rivets with a small flat bladed screwdriver. Then there is a Steel valance under that. There are about six bolts or so, left and right. Also remove the two nuts that hold the hood release and let it hang when you pull the steel valance off. Now the radiator top is exposed. It's tight, but it can be done, but there are FOUR 10MM bolts holding the fan assy in place, two left, and two right. Unplug the fans being careful to pull the colored pin on the electrical connection that allows the release of the plug. (don't loose it, bag it) There is also a little clip holding the fan assy to the radiator. Look striaght down in the middle. Carefully pry it loose to release the top of the shroud from the radiator. It should now lift out with some wriggling, but it will pull free. (On the bottom there is a matching clip that holds the shroud in plqace until you reinstall the bolts.) Install in reverse order.

Sony KDS-55A2000. bought 1/07. replaced bulb 2/08. gave tv to parents 11/10. worked fine until last week. 1 on screen message, temperature warning (they checked all vents-everything clear and 1' away from...

you will need to check the fans are all switching on when you turn the tv on, it might be one of the fan sensors that has gone bad, the tv wont turn on if it detects that the fans or a single fan is not working. I have not worked on this particular set , but that would be the first place i would look, if you find a fan is not firing up and if you have a multimeter, then check to see if you have a 12v voltage going to the fan, an easy way of rectifying it is to run a wire from one of the other working fans to the positive of the fan that isnt working. This would at least eliminate the fan as the culprit, if the tv starts up normally then the problem lies in why the fan is not receiving power. I ran a tv using this method for over 8 months before it died, from other problems i might add , not the fact i bypassed the fan power circuit.

I would like to know hao to get the manual on a fedder aeqo72bg. My ac started aknocking noise 2 days ago. it sounds like a fan belt is going and I would like to know if they even have belts?

The blower is direct drive. What has happened most likely is the blower fan center hub has most likely cracked. That results in the fan tipping as it rotates and starts dragging on the Styro-foam ait ducting... or the rear condensor fan fails (very rare) and is dragging on the plastic air shroud.

To gain access to the blower fan you must remove the AC from its mounting by removing the center bottom earthquake mount and sliding the unit out of the outer chassis.

Unless you want to make a mess you should use a wet or dry vac and remove all of the water and debris from the chassis tray.

Set 2 blocks of wood equal size at least 18 inches long about 24 inches apart on the ground and rest the airconditioner on the wood.

To gain access to the blower fan you must remove the UPPER Styro-foam air shroud. This is accomplished by removing the 2 screws and bracket between the fan motor chassis bulkhead and the condenser air shroud. Some models also have 1 more screw and bracket on the top right front of the upper Styro-foam shroud.

Now check to see if the front blower fan teeters on the motor shaft or feels loose onthe motor shaft. (my bet is yes)

To change the blower you will need to follow the steps below.

You will have to remove the 4 screws in the condensor fan air shroud on the fan motor side of the condenser. Next you will need to remove the control box and disconnect both the compressor and the fan motor from the control assy. There are at least 3 screws in the control box enclosure and you must remove them all. One of the screws has the power ground attached to the chassis. MAKE A personalized DIAGRAM especially if there are terminals vs connector plugs. Also make sure to ground the run capacitor with a screw driver several times to remove any residual charge BEFORE removing termnals. (Diagram Capacitor also!) Then remove all of the screws for the air box chassis including the rear screw under the motor. There should be at least 5 screws on the rear bottom of air box metal chassis with one of them having the blower motor ground under the head. Remove the 4 screws on the sides (2 per side) of the air box chassis. WAIT... there are 4 more screws on the left side of the evaporator coils that need removed. 2 on the air shroud chassis and 2 on the evaporator assy. Then slide out the metal piece between the air shroud and the evaporator. NOW you can lift out the blower motor with both fans attached.

Removal of either fan is accomplished by squeezing the mounting clamp and sliding the fan off the motor shaft.

If you so any coil cleaning DO NOT spray the coils from an angle it will bend the coil fins. Spray straight on with a semi diffused spray pattern. It will take much longer than you would think to clean the coils.

Reassemble in reverse order.

Thanks for using Fixya.
