SOURCE: The "spinner, 3rd level wash" kept falling off. Ordered new part, no instructions with it.

I came here today looking for the solution to this same problem! However, I might be able to help a little...in searching the bottom of the dishwasher, I found the pointed plastic piece for mine. To put it back in, here's what I did -- the 'vanes' of the spinner face the top of the dishwasher, align the center hole of the spinner with the hole in the 'ceiling' of the dishwasher. Push the small plastic piece (pointed end up) up through the center of the spinner and snap it into place, attaching it to the dishwasher. However, whenever I put mine back in, it comes out in the next wash. I'm assuming that my spinner keeps coming out because my plastic piece is worn(?) I was wondering if there was a screw involved to hold it into place, but from your description of the parts bag (spinner and plastic snap) perhaps there is not. I'll order my replacement part and see if that fixes it. Anyone who knows about this for sure -- please post for us! Thanks!

SOURCE: Door falls open

I have had this issue TWICE now on a three year old dishwasher, and Sears charges you $150.+ to fix it. It is quite simple to fix, there is a special part that has all the pieces attached to it, except for the spring. You will have to remove the screws that are holding your dishwasher under the counter. This could be behind the rubber on the sides. I had to remove a gray plastic circle piece on the inside to see the screw (it pops right out, don't loose it!). Pull out the machine enough to see the out side- side. You will see a (plastic) white roller, string(rope), and a piece that attaches to the dishwasher. There is a number on the white plastic piece that looks like a L (it just slides out). Thess pieces are called the Dishwasher Door Balance Link. You will need to order these pieces, they are all inclusive, and come for both sides of the door, at a whopping price of $15.00. VERY simple to install. Attach one end to the spring, line up in roller then attach to the dishwasher. It is easier to look at it and follow what is on the dishwasher than me clearly explaining it. I feel that paying $1000.00 dollars for a dishwasher would warrant using metal pieces instead of substandard plastic, for this application. These door are very Heavy and like I have said I have replaced them twice with a waiting time of three weeks for the repair man. Please try it, you can do it.

It appears your dispenser wax switch has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Kenmore dishwasher making "spitting" or "sputtering" noise during operation

The easiest way to confirm if the arms are blocked is by turning all the arms in the machine to a certain same position and running the machine for a few minutes in its wash cycle. Open the door and see if the arms have moved. If not, check all the holes in the arms for blockages. Sometimes its very difficult to clean them. You may have to poke a pin or something into hole and then shake the obstruction out through the large inlet hole under the spray arm itself.

Door springs are located at the left and right side of the door bottom. You will have to pull the unit a few inches from the installed location to see them. If broken, replace. If one slipped off, reattach.

Bottom of door makes loud squeaking on opening. I can't figure out how to lubricate. I'm wondering if removing the plastic molding on the bottom inside of the door would allow me access.

Hello,

Yes by removing the inner door liner from the outer door panel you should be able to gain access to the door hinges, between the part of the hinge on the door and the hinge part on the tub is a plastic bushing that probably worn causing that sqeeking noise.

Kenmore dishwasher elite door opens too fast, broken spring?

Could be that, the spring may have unhooked or it could be a defective damper connected to the door. Remove the side panels and check the operation of the door mechanism. (This will probably require the removal of the rear panel to gain access to the necessary fastners).

Dishwasher is Haier ESD300. I had just started to open the door and heard a loud "pop" kind of sound. The door just falls down with no resistance now. There is a string, yes a string, hanging from the left...

You'll have to slide the dishwasher out from under the cabinet to get a better look at the hinge cable system and you should be able to look at the other hinge to see what broke. could be the cable itself or the spring or a retainer. You will not know until you compare to other hinge. After you find the problem you can go to www.repairclinic.com and they may have the part and the picture if not you can talk to a person live chat. Hope this helps
