Question about Apple iPhone 3G

1 Answer

My screen blinks during outgoing calls

I cannot utilize the keys when it blinks (ex speaker).
It blinks during the complete period of the outgoing call.

When I receive a call (incoming) it functions without blinking and I can utilize the keys.

Thanks for your help.

The iPhone has a couple of detectors to the left of the speaker on the front screen that are designed to detect if the phone is placed against the face. I guess that these are responsible for the problem.

Check to ensure that the top left of the facade is uncovered and clean. Please be aware that some iPhone cases (particularly those for the iphone v1) can interfere with these detectors.

The iphone 3G has three detectors, the iPhone has two....

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Phone goes blank

sir is it blinks with white screen only or blinks with white screen then shut down?
-if the phone can receive/send text and mms messages while the incoming and outgoing calls become shut down,i think you need to replace the battery because it is weak.use only original battery.
-and if it is blink with white screen only try to reset all settings or reformat your phone,if not work hardware problem go to repair shop.

found it from this link
First start with *#0002*28346#
1. You will see menu showing "Under construction".
Press #.
2. New screen apears.:
[1] Load Params
[2] Call Config
3. Press Call Config
4. New screen (in here are all the settings for call volume):
[1] RCV Rx Call Vol (that`s what we focus on)
[2] RCV Rx Drmf Vol[]
[3] RCV Codec Gain[]
[4] RCV NS-EC[]
[5] RCV Tx AGC[]
[6] RCV Rx AGC[]
[7] RCV Tx Filter[]
[8] RCV Rx Filter[]
5. Press 1 to get into RCV Rx Call Vol Settings.
6. Now starts the editting.
You should see something like this (values below are not default cause i already changed them):
0.[2] rx:0.0dB
1.[4] rx:10.0dB
2.[6] rx:25.0dB
3.[8] rx:50.0dB
4.[10] rx:100.0dB
5.[12] rx:200.0dB
6.[14] rx:255.0dB
Input Ex: 123-> 12.3dB

Last line explains almost everything.
Each line represents different volume levels. Let`s say you want to edit first line. Then you press 0. Screen on your phone should blink. Now you enter value for the level. Let`s say you want it to be 21.3dB. Type in 213 and press ok. Display should blink and you will see:
0.[2] rx:21.3dB
1.[4] rx:10.0dB
2.[6] rx:25.0dB
3.[8] rx:50.0dB
4.[10] rx:100.0dB
5.[12] rx:200.0dB
6.[14] rx:255.0dB
Input Ex: 123-> 12.3dB
That`s it. You just changed first line which means the lowest volume setting to 21.3dB. Keep playing with other settings. When you want to change second line just press 1. Then screen blinks again. Let`s say you want it to be 255dB. Type in 2550 and press OK. Screen blinks and you should see:
0.[2] rx:21.3dB
1.[4] rx:255.0dB
2.[6] rx:25.0dB
3.[8] rx:50.0dB
4.[10] rx:100.0dB
5.[12] rx:200.0dB
6.[14] rx:255.0dB
Input Ex: 123-> 12.3dB
7. Now let`s go to speakerphone.
Press # 4 times.
You should get to menu like this:
[1] Debug Screen
[2] Version/DMS Information
[3] RF Test
[4] UMTS rf nv
[5] Read gsm rf nv
[6] Write gsm rv nv
[7] Base Band
[8] Audio (that`s where we are going now)
[9] Common
8. Press 8.

I WANT TO KNOW TOTAL CALL TIME IN W580i

When on the home screen the left soft key takes you to your call history. This is divided into tabs, with the first default tab showing all calls and the other tabs showing incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. Each tab shows a chronological list of calls, displaying the phone number dialed. The currently selected item also shows the date and time of the call. The left soft key is assigned to call the currently highlighted item, while the right soft key opens a menu that provides additional functions. Data counters can be found in the phone settings, as well as total call timers and a message counter.
se_w580i_callhistory.jpg During a call the right soft key is assigned to end the call and the left soft key opens a menu with additional options. These options include the ability to turn the speaker phone on and off, add a call for conference calling, place the call on hold, or enable the mute function. The W580i also supports multi-tasking, so you can access other phone functions like your calendar and contacts while on a call. We found the call management feature set on the W580i to be fairly standard, with nothing that stands out, but nothing important missing, either.
