CAN I SPLICE AN EXT CORD AND ATTATCH IT TO THE WIRES IN THE HOOD AND PLUG IN WALL SOCET BEHIND STOVE, WHICH IS 120V, HICH IS POS AND WHICH IS NEG ON THE EXT CORD.

The white which has the longer slot is the negative and the black wire which has the smaller slot is the positive ( hot ) wire.
