Won't drain motor seems ok, no apparent blockage

My washer stops at certain times and seems to just freeze. If I mess with the controls at the top it will start again sometimes but usually always have to run the Dranin & Spin cycle after every load to get excess water from clothes.

Whirlpool washer won't drain.

A long shot!
With water in the machine and power turned off! remove drain pipe wipe clean and then blow down the pipe you should hear it blow bubbles inside the machine this will prove it is not a blockage.
Also check that where the pipe waste fits into the drain is not blocked?
Is the pump direct drive or driven by a fan belt?
If it is direct drive from its own motor and you can hear the motor running I would suggest that the impeller has come adrift or broken ?
If it is driven by a fan belt check it is still intact and also tight enough!
Sometimes the belt may be in position but slipping when it is supposed to be turning.
Some machines have pumps that run off the main fan belt and would have adjusters or springs to keep them in contact with the drive belt
I hope this is of some help?
Best of luck!

Does the drum turn at all? if not it will be the motor brushes, Also check the drain pump for blockages and make sure the pump is functioning.

How do you replace the lid switch on a Kenmore 70 series washing machine

Hi.

Check for drain blockage at the filter. Check setting of drain hose at the back. If there is no drain problem check pressure switch, central control unit and pump motor.

Here a tip talking about drain and spin problems: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7775926-no_spin_tip_all_washers

Machine had been giving E20 error code - filter cleared and it re-started ok. When wash was in progress - jammed at rinse stage and all lights came on (except spin speeds) and humming noise and nothing...

E20 is an error code for drainage failure.

Check where the appliance drain hose connects to the house drains for a blockage.

If it's onto a spigot under the sink, take them off and check both for a blockage.

If these are ok then it's likely to be a blockage in the pump.

You'll need to drain the water out manually.

Put a shallow dish below the filter and slacken the filter.

Tighten it to stop the flow of water while you empty the dish.

Once empty, take the filter out, clean out the debris and ensure nothing is left jamming the pump.

Before refitting the filter, put the machine on drain or spin and listen at the filter housing to see if you can hear the pump running.

If you do, fit the filter and try the machine again.

Hi, I have an LG 1412RD washer dryer. I received the DE error message so opened the front to access the door lock and plugged in the electric socket which seemed loose. Now I am getting the OE message...

Owners manual above. LG washing machine error code – OEThe LG error code OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Presumably the water isn’t being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn’t pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
