Question about Epson Stylus C84 InkJet Printer

Not printing My mother purchased this printer and has nothing but problems. It is now not allowing her to print (all she wants is black and white) because this printer is deciding that there is no ink in the color cart. There is ink in all of the cartridges, and there seems to be no way to clean them b/c the error message pops up saying there's no ink. Is there any program that has been written to fix this notorious problem that the class action suit has not fixed? Is there any way to bypass the color cart. to use only the black cart.? thank you Max

If any one of the ink cartridges are not being recognised then the c64 and c84 will not print. Either as mentioned in the other solution the cartridges have not been correctly chipped if non genuine; or you should replace with Genuine Epson cartridges. Also you can try disconnecting the printer from pc, uninstalling the printer software. Restart pc, install printer driver, then re-connect printer when prompted; to ensure that its not a software fault.

In "Printer and faxes" right click the printer icon go to proerties and select the advanced button, you should be able to set the printer for text only and it should also have Greyscale option. If the printer is not recognising the cartridges, this only happens on refilled or "Compatible" type cartridges. If they are epson (proper) cartridegs take them back and get an exchange as they are not correctly chipped.

COLOR PRINTING PROBLEM


Have a look at your printer software settings. You may have it set to black and white only. There may also be a driver that was missed during installation to allow colour printing. Try reinstalling the software.

You did not specify your printer make/model however, it may be possible to solve this problem by going into the printer settings on your PC (Start > Control Panel > Printers) then right click on the printer you are having problem with. One of the tab options there should have an option to print only in black and white. I would also double check the printer manual to see if there is anything else that you need to set on the printer (the mono button is usually if you want to copy in black only). Canon has made there printer this way to SAVE on your black in and also to lubricate the print heads and other technical reasons.

To be honest I do not think its in your best interest to override the settings on this print due to the cause of damage to the print head and other sorts of failure.

There are chip re setters and other forms of ways to trick the system, These Void the warranty and thus Canon does not allow for this type of compromise to save ink. the best thing you can do here is purchase a ink kit with a chip that uses a contentious flo system to save you on ink purchases and money.

In the properties menu of the printer. Click on the tab of job handling. Make sure your user information and password for the copier has been entered. Without this you can only print black and white.

How do i print a PDF in black and white on a mp150 printer?


Go to your printers folder and right click on the MP150 and choose properties. Then look through the options and find one that allows you to specify black and white or color. Then you'll be able to print the way you desire.

Dell 948 printer- won't print in black and white


I had this problem. It's actually very easy to fix:

- Click Print -> Properties
- Go to "Advanced" tab
- "More options"
- Deselect "Use color cartridge for all black printing"
- Select "Use black cartridge to print black and white"
- Click "Ok"

You should be able to select the "Print in black and white" option now and stop all the frustration!

I have a xerox dc12 with error message please turn machine off and on again 9-363 have tried several times but no good! what else can I do?


That's a process problem with that machine.
May require a service call .ON and OFF is pretty much all a customer can do and wait for it to setup.
NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
  • Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
  • Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
