WFMC6400UC won't turn on. Only three beeps and the word ERROR

When I turn the knob to any wash cycle, I only get three beeps and an error message on the Control Panel. The machine neither turns on or filling up with water.

When I hold down the Menu and buttons while turning the knob to a cycle, the Control Panel says "ER 15."

Help pls.

HI THIS IS THE CORRECT SOLUTION Most washing machine timers are digital or mechanical. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. For this reason, any repairs to the timer should be made by a professional service person. However, there are a couple of checks you can make when you suspect the timer is faulty -- you may be able to install a new timer yourself.

Step 1: Unplug the washer. To access the timer, remove the control knobs and the panel that covers the controls. This may be a front panel, or access may be through a panel at the back of the unit. Carefully examine the wires that connect the timer to the other parts of the washer. If the wires are loose or disconnected, try pushing them into position; they usually fit into their terminals like plugs. Use long-nosed pliers to avoid breaking the wire connections -- never pull a wire by hand.

Step 2: To test the timer, use a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Disconnect the power leads to the timer and clip one probe of the VOM to each lead. The VOM should read zero if the timer is working. Since the timer is a multiple switch, turn it through its cycle and test each pair of terminals in turn. The meter should read zero at all of these points. If one or more readings are above zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 3: To replace the timer, unscrew and disconnect the old one. Install a new timer made specifically for the washing machine. If there are many wires on the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one as you work. Disconnect the old wires one at a time, connecting each corresponding new wire as you work, to make sure the connections are properly made. Or, draw a diagram showing the connections before removing the old timer. After all the wires are connected, check the connections again for correctness and screw the timer assembly into place.

Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes, check the power supply at the back and check if there is undrained water inside the machine.

Do not replace the inlet valve the information provided do not apply to your case.

The info was from Bosch Error "F" - Appliance Repair Forum.

In your case it is probably a motor fault.

Fault codes after e03 on Bosh Next are non user repairable faults, and the proble is probably concerning the motor or the motor control unit. Call Bosh to get a quote for the repair.

In your situation looks like the problem is a bad (or clogged) water inlet valve. You can easy access it by removing the bottom panel.

- The part number for the water inlet valve is AP378303

To see an exploded drawing of the unit visit Bosch Home Appliances - Dishwashers, Washers, Dryers, Ovens, Ranges, Microwaves, Cooktops, Ventilation, Refrigerators, Small Appliances, Warming Drawers and visit the "customer care" section of the site from there select the "Purchase parts", still deeper click now on the "Order Accessories and Additional Parts"

A new window open, enter you model and from there you can get exploded drawing of the unit to give you an idea where you need to go.

Take the kick panel off and on the left side the water valve is held in place by 2 screws to the base. The valve can be pulled out the front and swapped out. THe hard part is getting the hose back on the new valve. Thnx.

The knob just spins round and doesn't catch. It received a bash and it now won't accept a wash cycle. Any thoughts?

It seems that the timer has failed and needs a replacement. If this seems to turn around without clicking and if there is no action when the program cycle is initiated, this seems a failure of the timer controller unit. This happens in cases when it is turned around in reverse order or violently.

During every cycle, I get a "check water tap" message? It stops running and beeps until I press the start button again

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

What happens when you press start again, does it continue on through the cycle or display error again ?

Typically this message indicates the water is shut "off", a hose is "kinked/pinched" or a small screens/strainers inside the fill hoses has become blocked or partially blocked.

If you turn off your water and remove the hoses from both ends, clean out the screens in the hoses and in the valve, that may remedy the issue.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

Good luck.

Machine will run through entire cycle and will not spin. It quits at the spin cycle. I checked the Black boot at the bottom. Removed and cleared out coins. Checked pump- it was turning freely. Reinstalled...

I had a similar problem and found out the "latch" on the washer door broke off. The machine won't run in spin cycle if the door is"open", but it would run through the wash cycle.
