Strange indeed. Typically the only power left in a system after it is unplugged in older systems is a small battery that keeps the BIOS information. Maybe your system has it set up to warn you through the tiny system speaker that this battery is dead. If it is then the system can't start up...just as you reported.

Any other information would be helpful in diagnosing this problem.

MY TOWER KEEPS BEEPING, LIKE IT IS SYNCING BUT DOEST STOP MAKING THE NOISE. WHAT TO DO? I HAVE ALREADY TURNED ON AND OFF AND UNPLUGGED AND REPLUGGED.

Sounds like you might have a hardware issue, computers generally use a loud beep (not from the speakers or headphones) that alert the user that something has gone wrong with it. I recommend you take it in to a computer store to have it looked at. Issues like this might stem from overheating, which would cause your computer to immediately switch off in order to prevent components from further overheating.

How to fix my computer PC so noisy

check the noise location.

It could be the internal fan or it could be the CD/DVD drive making noise.

You probably have to open the case/Tower to check what is causing the noise. If it is a fan make sure it is not obstructing with any wire and then close the tower carefully.

It could be the SMPS( switched mode power supply ) the power supply of the computer. SMPS is the box inside the tower where the power cable of the computer gets connected.

Try to check if that is making noise or not .. If it is get that replaced.

If it is a CD/DVD ??

check if the noise comes when the CD is in or it comes even if it is empty.

Both cases the CD/dvd drive needs repair.

Try the steps above and let me know if you have any other question.

When turning my p.c on my screen sais"no input signal" and my tower starts making a bleeping noise please help

Sounds like you have something stopping your tower from booting.

Have your power supply checked out, then if thats not it you may have a bad motherboard or CPU.

My new acer aspire tower has an anoying hum. Is this normal?

Hi Rick,

Ideally there will be some amount of noise emanating from any system, so its normal. The noise factor can be attributed to various components within your tower. Typical components that generate noise are:

CPU Fan - It usually runs at a speed of 1500 rpm
Hard Drive - There are circular metallic discs in the hard drive which run at a speed of about 7200 rpm for normal hard drives
Video Card Fan (if there is one)
SMPS/Power Supply fan

However, if the noise is very audible then you can try the following:

- Ensure that your tower is kept on a flat surface
- There are no obstructions around the power supply fan (found at the back of your tower)
- Power supply provided is proper and coming through a spike buster

If you feel that the noise level is high, then I would recommend contacting Acer support as it may be a problem with one of the fans or the way your motherboard has been fixed within the tower.

Dell tower desktop Dimension 5100. Tower makes whistling sound.

sounds like it could be a bearing in your hard drive. is this problem constant? If so, I would open up the tower and disconnect the hard drive and then power up the tower again. if the sound goes away--you need to get a new hard drive. If not, you could have some dust bunnies in your cooling fan.
