Question about HP DeskJet 6122 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My HP Desktop 6122 printer droped dead! Need need manual ???

The 6122 has been a wonderful printer. Last week it just stopped working. No lights, no noise, no nothing! I've opened it up (I am a tech) and have 19 volts and 14 volts out of the power section to the control board. Strange voltages, but I've never worked on printers before. Are there elec. prints available for this item anywhere for free download? I feel sure the problem is a diode or some kind of fuse since it has taken out all signs of life.

Same thing, no lights, no noise, no nothing. I'm not enough of a techie to take anything apart but is there some sort of a fuse in there someplace?

My HP Desktop 6122 printer does not turn on either. All connections and power are okay, but no lights come on -- does not power on. Manual does NOT help, since it does not discuss this problem.

How to turn off test print on a HP DJ 6122.

Yes.Tell it to print a dot short word and when it starts printing unplug the power cord so it stops with the printhead somewhere to the left. Then do your cart change. It won' t know you did anything.
The 6122 will print from the HP 920, 930, 932, 940 & 950 drivers also - (which are included with your Windows XP and Vista systems). If you chose the 970 driver it will want a second sheet of paper to print a test page, which you can ignore and it will stop trying. All drivers seem to be the same print quality in my systems. I do not use the 970 or 6122 driver at all so I don't have an ink level monitor or any possible related potential glitch. I wet and slap stubborn old ink cartridges to un-stick dry jets. sometimes I use a small clear silicone tube to suck a bit of ink to get them started as the jet holes need priming sometimes if they are old.

I have an HP Deskjet 6122. Cannot get documents

Your printer needs some manual servicing.
It's advised that you leave it for a qualified technician to do that.
From the problem you described, the encoder sensor may be causing this problem.

Unfortunately there is little you can do to troubleshoot hardware malfunctions like this you describe. Especially on inkjet printers. You would be better off getting a replacement printer.

Make sure you take the plastic guards off the cartridges, other than that there really isn't much more you can do.
