You've probably thought of this, but make sure the fall did not disconnect the cable that connects the tower to the monitor.

Reset power outage.

First cap the p-ram. Hold down the Apple. Option P and R keys after the start-up chime. Wait for four more chimes.
Or, boot from Disc Warrior and let it repair HD.
Then restart and in disc utility repair disc permissions and repair disc.

I have G5 PPC mac tower - power light is on, but the unit will not turn on. No fans are running. Just a bright white light on the power button.

First if side door or plastic shield is off, fans won't come on and unit won't start. Fans only run when unit is running hard and that's not always. Back to your original issue - not running, couple of things to try - first being side door and latch on back, make sure both are closed. Try restarting by holding start button on front of tower. If that don't cure it, disconnect power lead in rear for about 30 secs then try to restart.

My isight g 5 will not start up, have the cover off

If your cover is off the Mac tower, it won't start, but the fans run really fast and the red light comes on. The plastic cover needs to be in place so that air flows the way apple wants to avoid overheating. The metal cover may also need to be in place as well.

Ive got a g4 tower plus installation discs but do not know the local admin pass word as i bought it second hand is there any way for me to reset the computer and passwords ? pls help!

You don't need the admin password to restore a Mac from its installation discs. Insert the disc, then hold down the C key as you are starting up, to boot from the disc instead of the hard drive. Continue with complete restoration of the original machine contents.

Can't power on my DELL 1707FP monitor

Try a different wall outlet. If no go swap the monitor and tower power cables. I still no joy disconnect the power cord from the monitor, hold the power button for 10 seconds with the power cord disconnected. Try Plugin intu cable. If the screen is still dead check with dell tech support if the monitor has a warranty active on it. If the warranty is out get the monitor checked at a local computer shop.

PowerMac G5 fan keeps running -- LOUDLY

I had the same problem... It is the logic board... You need to get it replaced. One way you could try to fix it by resetting the board there should be a little black dot behind the front two fans when you open it up. Press and hold for a few seconds... this resets the board to factory settings. The other way is replace the internal battery. and the third is to replace the logic board. $150-200

Kernal panic

Hello,

To reset nvram,
Press "cmd alt O F" at startup
Then enter:
reset_nvram (press enter)
reset_all (press enter)

A kernel panic can come from a lot of things (peripherals, corrupted file, or damaged hard drive or memory). The best is to check in the log file what caused the kernel panic, or to proceed step by step, checking one thing after the other, until the problem is resolved.

G5 failing to startup

Two things.  1. Boot from the original install disk and choose your language. Don't install the software, look up to the menu and find disk utility. You will run disk utility on your mac from the CD. You boot to the CD by holding down the "C" button during startup.
2. If you had the insight to set up an emergency user, see if the problem occurs on both users. Sounds like it happens right off, so I think solution 1 is best. Once you get things running, set up another user. I call the account Emergency and use Emergency as the password. This is used for, you guessed it, emergencies. What this does is isolate the problem to the user or the computer.
Apple has a great knowledge base to search for solutions as well. Good luck.
