The file system has become corrupt and unreadable, or at least a section of it. If you can't reformat it then it's likely dying or dead. At least you should be able to recover some of your data however...

SOURCE: Sony memory stick PRO Duo 2GB Pc will not display photos on PC

Hey all actual solution...sort of will get you your files well it worked for me.

i have winrar on my windows 7 pc but should work for anything with winrar.

  1. open my computer
  2. right click memory stick pro duo
  3. click "add to archive"
  4. in the winrar window under format on the left hand side of the window half way down select "zip" format
  5. click "ok"
  6. once your files have archived the DCIM folder and MISC folder will be in the archived file and should be accessible from there
  7. NOTE: you cannot extract files after the archive has been created DCIM folder and MISC folder will still be invisible even if you extract them from the archive.
  8. Files can still be drag and dropped out of the DCIM folder onto desktop or chosen destination from the archived file.
Hope this has been helpful to all reading this and everyone who posted the problem :D

I cant access any of the folders in my camera memory stick when I connect it to the pc with the USB. Its a 2GB . All the folders have a shortcut icon on them and when I try to access them...

Start off by running a virus scanner on that memory card making sure its clean, take out the memory card and put it directly into the computer using a micro drive to remove all your pictures from it, if you do not have one then you will need to download all the drivers and software for your camera to be able to connect to it and retrieve everything

My memory card (2GB) in my psp lost the games, saved data and those psp themes but I didn `t delete those

There are a number of reasons why that happened. It could be you ejected your memory card from your psp without powering it off first, your memory card is too full of files up to its very last megabyte, or probably it's just another hardware glitch. Try powering off your psp, remove the memory card, reinsert it then power on your psp. If you still don't see your files, power off your psp, remove your memory card and then using a memory card reader, connect it to a pc to check if you can get access to your files. If your files still don't show up in my computer, then your files are gone for good. You have no choice but to start from scratch.

I scan memory card with quick h antivirus and all the files in the card automatically showing hidden and even not showing on computer in hidden form too..i check it with x plore, it shows all files but...

This is a common problem. Some antiviruses take the data as a threat/virus, and place them in a seperate hidden folder and changes their extensions (extensions are the file types e.g MP3, JPEG, etc) so that they are no longer accessible. I'd advise you to connect it with your computer. Then go to the TOOLS tab in your upper part of the computer window. Select Folder Options and choose "SHOW HIDDEN FILES" Im sure you'll be able to see those files. Unhide them by changing their PROPERTIES, and restore their extensions simply by typing in the previos extension using the RENAME option of your computer. I hpe this solves your problem If not, you may clarify your complaint and mail me at : [email protected]

I want to put music, Movies, and videos on the PSP and dont know how. I want to put my things in my iTunes on the PSP. Can I do that and if so how?

I am not sure how to put them on from iTunes. But to put things on the PSP you need a memory card and either a USB cord to connect the PSP to the USB port in your computer or a SD card reader in your computer. After you have done either of those, you have to plug in either the PSP (with the memory card inserted in the PSP) or the memory card in SD card reader. Once you have done this, a screen should pop up on your computer, asking you how to open the files on the memory card or PSP. Select the one where the picture is a folder (should say browse) and open up the memory card folder. Open up the folder in your computer with the desired files. Highlight the files, right-click on the mouse and select Copy. Then go back to the memory card folder and right click on an open spot and select Paste. This should copy the files over, but, even though they copy over, that does not mean you can acess them through the PSP. That I know of, Microsoft Word files cannot be acessed through the PSP. That seems to be one of the only files unable to be used with the PSP.

Do not know how to copy songs from computer to PSP

Connect he PSP by USB cable to your computer. On the PSP , Go to Tool column, and scroll to USB, then click X. You also need a Memory card in your PSP. One the USB is activated, you should be able to find your PSP memory card folders with your computer. Copy the music files from your computers folder to PSP/ Music folder on the PSP memory card. Then disable USB on your PSP, the remove hardware on the computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

I cannot see psp files on my computer.

If they are on the memory stick, but you cant see them once plugged into the computer, then they might be hidden. One in the folder that the files should exist go to tools>folder options> second tab, and check off "show hidden files".

if they are there. that will show them to you

There are no games

1.)try to backup first the data in your memory card to your pc,
2.)after copying ,format your memorycard.
3.)then copy the backup files back to the memorycard{copy it folders by folders}

if still doesnt work the memorycard must be infected by a virus. to troubleshoot:
1.)try to rename the GAME folder to game1{if you cant rename it,rightclick the folder then click properties then uncheck the readonly attributes then click apply then OK.}
2.)after renaming the folder,then create a new folder and name it as GAME
3.)then copypaste the game to the newly created folder.

note: 'GAME' folder indicates the folder where all previously game are located.if the previous name of that folder is '3.71GAME' then the newly created folder must be 3.71GAME

this solution do bypassing the unreadable folder done by a virus,i did it before & it solve my psp problem

tnx 4 using fixya

Instead of using a card reader, try to use the PSP in USB Mode with a connected cable. This may allow you to access portions that you currently are unable to access so that you may be able to backup the games.

Also, has your PSP been modded with a Pandora?
