The Mirror inside the back cover of my Hitachi is broken. The above part number is for the TV...Is this part number the correct one for the mirror? Can I just go to a custom mirror shop and have one made? Here is the replacement part number. HRM-KS-0202-8

Re: 53UDX10BA - Broken Mirror
As far as the part number I could not tell you. But you need to get this part from the manufacturer. It should be installed by a service teck because when replaced the tv projection system needs to realigned. I hope this helps you.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

The entire screen unit can be removed but first remove rear cover and look at the lens--clean with a lens cloth etc----peek up inside and look at the mirror--if not dirty or smudged just clean the lens.
removing the screen with its frame can be tricky--easy to damage the screens etc. Removal usually requires front speaker grill to be removed first---most just pull off but a few are secured from rear by some screws.
With it off look to see if at bottom of screen there are a row of screws--if the entire front unit can be removed it will pull out at bottom and be snapped in place.
A better suggestion is look at rear of set above back cover--if the upper part is plastic--it with the back removed can also be removed--careful as mirror is bolted into it---that way you can clean the mirror and get at the lens for the tubes without trying to remove screen unit--some of the smaller sets this is the ONLY way to get at the mirror.
Yes a number of screws but if plastic upper rear comes out with mirror much easier and safer way.
Could be.. try to email hitachi service .. or even call the manufactuer.. depends if you can afford to buy a new tv or not.. or willing to replace glass.. its probably cheaper to replce mirror.. you could get exact dimensions from manufactuer and try to get it custom made or buy it somewhere or tile cut it or something.
Your TV accepts HD inputs from HD cable boxes, video game systems, Bluray players etc. There is no adaptor needed just connect the HD device to the component inputs on the back of the TV which are GREEN/BLUE/RED in color. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks..
You can take the back cardboard cover off to get to the lenses on the picture tubes. Usually, if the picture is dull because it needs cleaning, the mirror should be cleaned. You can remove the top half of the back of the tv and the mirror will be mounted to the inside of it.
It probably has a broken mirror or somethings inside the set blocking part of the pic. Now for ther picture all red. If your not a tech I highly advise you going insidew this . Unless you know about the saftey issues and the HI voltage issues. Your problem could be a shorted Picture tube all the way to na bad distribution block . Good Luck
