Re: v smile learning game
Make sure the power cord is plugged in and that the red/white/yellow cables are plugged properly into the TV. Also, as you plug the red/white/yellow cables into the TV, make sure you turn the TV to the right channel - it is different for every TV. For instance, the red/white/yellow on the front of my Sony is labelled Video 2 - yours might be labelled FRONT, AUX, or something else. Also, you mentioned SCART. If your TV is in Europe, and the unit you have was designed for the US, the power supply isn't going to power the unit without an additional transformer. Also, the US models might have a native color system that is incompatible with PAL. Things you can try to get the V.Smile TV Learning System to work: 1)Press the Reset – Press and hold the ON button for about 10 seconds 2)Make sure the game is inserted far enough into the system, and that it is pointing in the right direction. You may occasionally need to clean the contacts. 3)Also, make sure you are using the supplied power cord/adapter, not batteries.Batteries cause more problems than they’re worth. -Tha Mp3 Doctor

You don't really say what make or model is the TV or VCR. However if you have a TV with a scart socket you can get a scart lead and connect the VCR via that. If the VCR has two scarts connect it via AV1 sometimes black whereas the other might be blue. If the TV has more than one you will have to try each one, unless it says VCR on the scart socket, till you get the best picture.
Check the scart lead by substitution, try another source of input, (game machine or dvd player,) it,s not uncommon to find bad solder joints on the print, where the scart socket is soldered to the mother board of the telly. there is no tuning as such for scart sockets, but you can get them in the wrong mode? S-video etc? but you should, in that case, get some sort of picture. Good luck! Nick
ok make sure all the cables are plugged in properly and into the correct slot, Check all the channels and make sure that it is not on AV If this doesn't work try new cables or scart leads, if you use a scart lead plug it into a differnt location E.G Some T.V's Have more than one scart lead socket
It's a bit of a pain as you'll have to re-establish your initial internet setup ( this is where keeping old passwords, etc, comes in handy ! ), but the only solution that will work is by resetting your PS3 to ' first time use ' ( not back to factory condition though ).
This may be an unwanted slog but if you've accidently changed the settings and can't remember how or why at least you'll know the initial sttings should work.
If you don't want to do this, try going to the screen settings and adjust one at a time ( loading a game in between ), also if you have a scart lead fitted ( as well as the HDMI lead ) make sure it's in the audio out and not in ' video ' ( the audio out will be a circuit between an audio scart socket on your tv and the red and white leads going back to your audio output device : active subwoofer, etc , the yellow lead plugs into the scart lead from the console via a plug point adaptor which goes straight into the scart on the tv set ).
AV Multi Out should not have to be performed as the leads out devices are the only ones which should be pressed to set.
Hope this helps.
Make sure the system is turned off before inserting the cartridges.
