I see darkness when i start up my laptop

Hi , I think your laptop brightness settings had been changed. So try this to increase and reduce the brightness , contrast. Select start-> control panel -> appearance & personalization -> display . There you will have options like Adjust brightness , Adjust resolution etc., on the left side of your window. You may adjust in this way.

Locate the Fn (Function) key on your keyboard. It may be on the bottom left side with dark blue letters. Locate the two "brightness" keys near the top of the keyboard. These will be in the "F" keys, possibly if F6 and F7. They should have little sun pictures or something similar to indicate brightness. Hold down the Fn key while pressing F7, or whichever "F" key your laptop uses to increase brightness. Tap F7 repeatedly until you reach the desired brightness. Fn must be held down as you continue to tap. Hope this helps.

If the display is too dark from the start, that is from the point you get the compaq logo then the issue should be with the LCD panel. if it is dark only in windows you can try increasing the brightness by using the Fn Key and the brightness up option in the keypad.

for most laptops look for a FN blue key in the lower left corner this is then held down while the bright or darkness is then tapped for plus or minus. Now this can be an up arrow, a plus sign, or any other key with a brite or sun on it. You will also notice a coresponding dark as well.

for increasing brightness in samsung n148 note book, combination of Fn key with up and down keys is not working , give me other way to increase the brightness

Every laptop that is coming to the market has a button the bottom left just next to the "Crtl" button. This button says "Fn". On the other hand please find the buttons that are marked with dark Sun or a white sun. These buttons are for decreasing or increasing brightness. Just press down the "Fn" key (or button) and then press the key with the white sun on it. The brightness of the laptop screen will increase.
The keys with sun symbol on it are usually the arrow keys.

Adjust video settings:

1. Press Wega Gate
2. Select Settings
3. Highlight Video
4. Press + to select
5. Adjust/increase the brightness.
6. Press Wega gate to exit.

If picture is still dark, you need to replace the lamp again. Sony recommends that you replace the lamp:

1. After approximately 8,000 hours of use.
2. When the screen becomes dark or the color becomes unusual.
3. When the lamp indicator on the front of the TV flashes.
   

Could be the brightness settings on the laptop. Did you try increasing the brightness using the Fn keys? If that does not work you may need to have the laptop worked on.
