Pop in the disk, browse its files, right click the installer and look for compatibility options. Should allow you to install it using compatibility mode for Windows XP. Google tells me it's compatible with Vista though, so is it giving you an error somewhere?

There are compatability issues with many of the 32 bit software titles. The 64 bit version of Vista is not backwards compatable with all titles of 32 bit Vista. You will have to down load the patch or 64 bit version of the titles you are having trouble with. You can try to run it in compatability mode but things like Turbo C/C++ will not function in that mode correctly. They won't debug right.

Windows problem

I would say the easiest thing to do with legacy programs is to run a virtualized version of an older windows OS within Vista.

Visit VMWare Server to download their free product that can run in Vista. You can then "find" a windows 98 cd-rom image to install with. It is fairly easy, but there will be a little work getting Win98 running.

This is probably the best way since you don't have to worry about compatibility with Vista, and also if the legacy app crashes it only crashes your VM and not your whole system.

If you would like some more in-depth discussion about virtualization, just email me.

I have vista 64 bit osis there any tc/c++ compiler that can run

You may try donloading Dosbox which is an Excellent program for running all 16bit and 32bit Programs

OR

you can checkout Dev++ which is a C++ compiler for all 64bit and 32bit Operating Systems as an option. Search it on Google and Download it may be better compiler for Vista than the traditional C++!! Rate if the answer helped!!
