2010 seat ibiza 1.6 tdi ,I've had my dpf cleaned ,now the dpf filter light comes on every couple of weeks ,any ideas what this could be

Potential causes for the DPF light coming back on in a 2010 Seat Ibiza 1.6 TDI after cleaning are:
  1. DPF re-clogging - If the DPF is not properly regenerating, it can re-clog and trigger the light.
  2. Sensor malfunction - The sensors monitoring the DPF and exhaust system may be faulty, causing the light to come back on.
  3. Software problem - A software issue could trigger the DPF light even if the DPF is functioning normally.
  4. DPF damage - The DPF may have been damaged during the cleaning process, requiring replacement.
It's advisable to have a professional diagnose the issue using specialized diagnostic equipment. A qualified technician can determine the root cause of the recurring DPF light.

Seat ibiza 1.6 tdi ,dpf filter ,my dpf filter light comes on e every couple of weeks

Drive on a motorway or suitable road at around 60mph for 20 minutes every now and then and the DPF will clean itself if not too late.

On my Peugeot 5009, why did the DPF warning light come on after only 23000 miles?

If this is a diesel eng the Diesel Particulate Filter(DPF) is plugged with soot. excessive idling can plug up the filter in several hours on some vehicles. Check your owners manual to see how to do a regen (burn) to clean out the filter. Sometimes just running eng hard at hwy speeds will burn out the soot also.

My son has a 2010 seat Ibiza 1.6tdi, he has had a problem with the dpf filter, and tried the regen but with no luck. He has had the car into the garage several times, had the filter removed and checked,...

Take car to AutoZone and use free Diagnostic Code Reader to identify exactly were problem is.by using code. Remember it isn't always the diesel particulate filter (or DPF). Fault normally is do to soot from diesel gas clogging the filter. If it were me I would have tune-up done every 4 years and have all filters (except Oil filter) taken out and blown every month to keep sensor from tripping.

I have a DPF light that despite following the Suzuki guideliness to drive at certain speed for a certain amount of time, this light has not cleared. I have already had a sensor in the exhaust replaced that...

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) collects particulates in the engine's exhaust, basically unburned fuel. Every so often the DPF will need to regenerate. What this means is when a certain amount of particulates accumulate in the DPF, a small amount of raw fuel is injected into the DPF to increase the temperature. The increased heat burns the particulates resulting in fewer nasty things going into the atmosphere. However, the regeneration process leaves a small amount of ash in the DPF which accumulates over time. You may have to have the DPF professionally cleaned (it's not a DIY thing) in order to restore its performance.

Are there catalytic converters fitted on 406 2.0l

Its a dpf not a cat.Easy way to clean out[regenerate]First bring the engine to normal temp bring up the rpm to 4000 for 2 mins, then allow to idle for 30 seconds then bring the rpm up to 3000 rpm for 3 mins and yourfilter will have regenerated [fancy word for clean itself out. DPF = diesel particulate filter. Its important to use good quality low ash oil for your oil changes.

Diesel particle filter keeps blocking

This is down to the way the vehicle is driven, if you are doing a lot of short stop start journeys the dpf will fill up a lot quicker than when driven on a motorway.
If you have an amber light and 'DPF FULL' displayed you can do a particle filter regeneration. To carry out a regeneration the vehicle must be driven on a motorway at around 60mph for approx 20 mins to carry out re-gen, there will also be a burning smell when this is complete.
If you have a red light and 'DPF FULL' displayed then there may be a fault which will require investigation.
