Did your try check in control panel, sound and audio devices settings on audio tab?
or try also check in device manager settings if there is remarks or yellow marks under sound, video and game controllers if you found the yellow mark, update the driver to refresh the device.

I have an M-Audio Producer USB mic and I record through FL Studios 9. I use ASIO4All soundcard and I have been able to record in the past but now when i plug in my mic to use it, i click on the M-audio...

have you checked that the usb mic is installed correctly? simple way to try is to open the settings in control panel for your sound device and seeing if you can choose the usb mic, the usb mic must be plugged in first. If you can, then there is a problem with the settings in fl studio, if you cant select the usb mic then click start > right click on computer and click manage. Click on device manager in the top left then double click on sound video controllers and see if your mic is listed in there if it isnt check the usb controllers and see if there is any unknown devices. right click and click uninstall if there are, also check if it is listed that it has no exclamation marks on it. Again if there is try right clicking and uninstalling it, if you still have the drivers for the mic available on disc, i would try ticking the delete driver files as well when you uninstall it, unplug the mic then restart the computer and when windows has loaded ,reinsert the microphone and see if you can now use it.

If you have your sound card drivers installed, it should work. The microphone settings are touchy...Download Skype, and use the call test feature while you are trying different settings for your mic in the control panel. That way you can hear what your setups are actually doing. I am experienced tech, and working with my mics has even given me headaches at times. Make sure you have the right jacks set as default, and check your settings on the control panel. YOu don't need extra drivers.

A problem with my mic settings

Check CONTROL PANEL, Sound or Audio Devices. Usually, a check box to show Volume Control on System Tray or Notifcation Area. If you can launch VOLUME control from either Startmenu/Programs/Accessories or START..RUN..SNDVOL32, look for a menu item to select RECORDING DEVICES to hopefully find the MIC.

Within your program, there may also be options/settings to use the mic.

To restore defaults, try a System Restore (System tool from start menu, accessories) or as a last resort, uninstall/remove the sound or audio device from your Device Manager (risky if you don't have the driver readily available from CD or Download). After uninstall, reboot to allow Plug and Play to put the hardware back in---usually this can get your defaults restored.

I accidently deleted my mic settings i cant get them bk can somon

No, it's ok... you didn't delete them. Click on the START button on your task bar at the bottom of the screen. Go to where it says Control Panel. Once in there, click on Sound and Audio Devices. From there you can set up your mic. BUT... first... double click on the little speaker icon down by the time on your taskbar (bottom right of screen usually). That will bring up the mixer, make sure that your mic isnt set on mute.

Recording Issues In Vista

Microsoft moved the particular option that you need to enable since Windows XP, and have also changed its default to MUTE.

To hear what is playing through MIC IN...

  • Go to Control Panel and select "Sound"
  • Under the "Playback" tab, double click on your enabled speakers.
  • Select the "levels" tab, and look for "Mic In Volume".
  • Click once on the speaker icon that is muted to un-mute it.
I really hope that this has solved your problem, if it has not, please let me know and I will do my best to help you further. Good Luck!

Microphone Problem with Vista

Hi,
Do you Have Any settings Via Control Panel Or Similar, to check to see if the mic isn,t Muted ?
I,m not too up on Vista but have experience With 95/98/2000 And XP.
I,d also assume that there is Troubleshooting facility with Vista.
Also Is the microphone plugged into the correct Jack/Socket ?
