Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S2246 Notebook
To whom so ever it may concern,
i am having a toshiba satellite A135 pc notebook, provided with windows vista home basic and i want it to convert it to windows xp professional. so i just wanted to ask that do i need the necessary drivers after i have installed xp or only the xp bootable cd will do it for me?
in short i am having only the windows xp bootable cd, will that be enough to get me a xp platform, or i have to download the drivers from net.
The Home Basic licence does not cover you legally to do this. You need a retail version of XP, not an OEM version. If you have an OEM version of XP (e.g. Dell XP recovery CD) it will not activate on the Tosh and MS will refuse to give you an activation code becuase it is illegal. If you do manage to install XP and activate it, you will of course need drivers. Check the Tosh website for XP drivers. If they don't have any for your model then you may have trouble finding the correct ones.
