Question about Amana 22.6 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with FrontFill Ice and Water

Took doors of amana fridge

I just bought a used Amana fridge (SXD26VW... P1315202WW) and to move it, the doors had to be removed. I have two problems, since I didn't watch how the guys unhooked it and I need to fix this before my husband gets home from work, for a variety of reasons.
1/To connect wires on top of freezer door hinge.
There Is a plug for four wires, another single plug. I can figure out where those go, but have not idea about the other two wires. One pink with no hardware off the end and another green/blue that has a bolt thing. I don't know where they attach. Is there some sort of diagram. I googled, but couldn't find anything.
2/This is driving me crazy...When the doors came off there was a long clear hose that goes up through the door of the freezer and hooks up to the water fountain. It came out of the door. I can't get it back up through the little hole through the door and do not know how to reattach it. (it actually looks like it was chewed off). I tried taking the moulding off the dispenser and was able to, but don't know how to get the hose back up there. How much of a Pain in the Behind is it to fix this? If I don't fix it and we still hook up the water for the ice maker will there be leakage....Can you help me? Before my husband gets home from work in a couple of hours? Comment by cooperco, posted on Nov 22, 2008 Thanks, but this didn't answer my questions. I actually spent 1/2 hour on that website before I posted and could not find out any of the information per the diagrams. There is nothing on there that has the wiring schematic for the freezer door hinge, nor is there anything about the hose that goes throught the door for water.
I would like actual answers to my questions and not a diagram. Thanks anyway. Comment by cooperco, posted on Nov 22, 2008 Please read my questions carefully before you respond.

I need help with the wiring at the hinge on the freezer door. Read first post for complete questions.
I also have a problem with the water hose, which came unhooked at the dispenser and I cannot get back into the door and do not know how to go about reattaching it. Comment by cooperco, posted on Nov 22, 2008OKay, it looks like the movers broke the hose. I don't have to have cold water, but I need a way to make sure that water isn't flowing into that hose, so I don't have water all over the floor. if the gas content in the cylinder of the fridge has became less then you will get more water in the ice maker .....

the gas content might have got reduced due to some of the reasons like if the fridge is kept open for long period of time when it is in on etc ....

it is some what difficult to explain the wiring theoritically so it is better you call a technician and get it fitted ...

he will just take some charges ... it is really not much any way

Do the door hinges ever wear out

I did my own search for the same problem and saw Dougs question and lack of a solution. I have the same sagging door problem and was looking for a fix.
First, when I removed the weight of the items from inside the door, the door closes properly. This means that the door is not very sturdy and cannot hold the weight of items placed on door shelving. There are NO adjustment mechanisms on the door hinges either. Bad on Amana. The GOOD NEWS is that I fixed the problem.
Take out all items from the door shelves. I removed the top hinge with the door closed to keep it from falling. I took the door off and placed it on the floor. The lower hinge has a plastic pivot over a steel pin - remove that for a moment. Place steel washers over the steel pin - about .080" or so thickness. Replace the plastic pivot. Replace the door. Add the normal weight of items back on the door shelves. The door closes perfectly. At least until the door sags again and I'll need to add another shim.

My brother moved and the movers removed the side by side doors

The dispenser assembly comes apart from the front. It should give you access to the waterline as it comes up from the bottom.

Compressor working but Fridge and Freezer not cooling - Amana

It sounds like the same problem my brother is having with his. I took it apart and found that the fan that moves all the air for cooling is not working. This fan is behind the bottom panel in the freezer side, and sorry you do have to take everything out to get to it.

I want to remove my Amana Refrigerator handles

The handles are probably attached with screws from the back -- this will require removing some panel(s) to access them.

I NEED TO CHANGE LIGHT BULB WHERE WATER IS DISPENSED IN DOOR OF AMANA SXD26VW. PUT IN 12V - 6 WATT & IT BLEW THE BREAKER. WHAT SIZE BULB IS NEEDED. NO MARKINGS ON OLD BULB & NO OWNERS MANUAL.

It requires a 120 volt bulb. If it is a screw-base bulb, it's the same bulb as used in plug-in nite lights. If it's not a screw-in you'll need to go to an appliance parts store to the proper bulb.

We have an Amana side by side that is only cold on the bottom in both the freezer and fridge. Also the top shelf of the fridge is hot from the light, which does not seem to go off when the door is shut....

amana runs power to the fan thru the defrost sensor that is mounted on the evaporator coil. these sensors will get moisture inside of them and short out causing intermittent fan operation. replace then sensor and your frig will return to normal. thanks for using FixYa peyton

Took doors off Amana fridge and need help

HI FOLLOW THESE STEP
Step 1: If the door won't shut tightly, tip the refrigerator slightly backward by propping up the front of the unit or unscrewing the front leveling legs two complete turns. Experiment with this adjustment until the door stays closed, but don't tip the unit very far out of front-to-back level.

Step 2: If leveling doesn't work, tighten the hinge screws. You may have to open the door (especially the freezer door) to turn these screws. On some units, you may have to remove a hinge cap or trim to reach the screws; pry off the cap or trim with a screwdriver. Sagging and looseness can be corrected by shimming the door hinges. Loosen the hinge and place a hinge-shaped cardboard shim between the hinge and the door. Then tighten the hinge again. Sagging may also be caused by a wrongly placed shim. In this case, you can correct the problem by removing the shim. Experiment with the shims; you may be able to eliminate the sagging.

Step 3: If the door is warped, tighten the screws that hold the inner door shell to the outer door shell. You may have to change or adjust the door gasket after making this adjustment.

Step 4: Check the catch. Newer units have a magnetic catch on the door. If the door doesn't latch properly, remove the magnetic strike from the inner door shell and shim it slightly with a piece of thin cardboard. You may have to adjust the gasket to conform with the new shim.
BY THIS YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED.PLEASE RATE IT AS HELPFULL THAK YOU...........
