I have a electric Gaffers & Satler double oven in my mobile home and in the top oven I get no heat or power indicator light on the panel, but I get power to the rotisserie and the interior light. The lower oven works fine.

Please clean the coil connectors. Better remove it first then do a thorough clean. Double check any loose contacts in between them.

Stovetop & Oven not heating but clock, lights, & vent fan are working

It sounds like you are getting only one side of the power to your stove. the lights will work but no heat. your power breaker has two sides for an electric stove. It may be one side isn't reset properly. make sure that you snap the breaker completely off and then completely back on. if that doesn't work perhaps an electrician is in order or one side of your power cord has burned off at the terminal block. I have had this happen.

We're having the same problem. Oven light works, but plug by oven light switch does not. I changed the screw in fuse (15 Amp) in the oven, although it was blown, it didn't fix the problem.
I will be checking the double breaker on the electric panel tonight, making sure it's getting the full 220v, and if that is good, I will be looking at checking and replacing the clock.
Hope this helps.

No heat from burners or oven after relocating stove

Hi Ron - From what you have described if neither the burners nor oven turns on make sure the electrical connecting is 240V. The oven light and clock portions only required 115V. The clock and oven light working may indicate an electrical circuit breaker supplying the range is tripped or a fuse is blown. Confirm household circuit is correct and the range cord is properly wired to the terminal block.

May be the heating coil is bust?
The control panel is in parallel usually so as long as the controls are getting power they will turn on. But if the coil is gone you wont get heat. If you want to try fixing it, you may need a multimeter, or a continuity tester.

I have a ~1977 vintage built-in Gaffers and Sattler double electric oven. Top oven doesn't heat up in "bake" mode (broiler element works fine). Indicator light(the one outside the oven that...

I'm not sure how your range is configured, because I've never heard of the Brand name before. However, most electric ranges have an Electronic Oven Control (EOC) Board that controls all the oven functions. There's usually a separate relay on the board for Bake and Broil. The indicator light could be an indication that the relay is working, but I'm not sure.

As far as the element is concerned, it does not have to look bad in order to have a problem. You should be able to access the terminals of the element in question by removing the back panel of the range. Make sure you UNPLUG the range before attempting any repairs. There is live voltage present a the terminals even with the range turned off. That's why it is important to either unplug or turn off the main breaker. A resistance check at the terminals should indicate a fairly low resistance. This reading varies with different models. Again, I'm not sure what yours would be. This can range from a few ohms to a few hundred ohms depending on the type material used in the manufacturing of the element. Your best bet is the use the continuity function on your meter to see if the element has the proper continuity. If it doesn't, replace it.

I have a couple of links you can try to assist you as well. The first link describes how to replace elements in MOST electric ranges:

The second link explains how to test and/or replace the oven temperature probe (sensor):

I hope some of this is helpful to you.

Gaffers and Sattler vintage stove oven pilot 1956 W54 series similar problem

My mother had the same problem with her Gaffers-Sattler range. No one could figure out what was wrong with it. Her local new appliance repair people said to contact J.E.S. Enterprises, Inc at Whew; thank God for that tip. They knew exactly what the problem was and repaired the unit for her. The stove is running again like a workhorse! Here is their number - 805-643-3532.
