Radio is turned on but no sound, mute is off

The radio has an amplifier? and you are sure there are speakers connected?

No sound

firstly, check if the volume is low or its on mute. If that's not the problem, trace the speaker wire from the player to the speaker itself, check if the speaker wires did not cut or intact.

Remove the speaker and test it with a meter to see if the speaker is still good and if your car has amp, check if the fuse on the amp speaker channel is not burnt.

If non of the above is the cause of the problem, then it means the player's sound IC is defective that's why its not bringing sound.

Good luck.

I just got the aiwa cdc-x227 and the mute is do you unmute it?

check for a logo that shows a speaker with a cross(X) across. just switch this back. this is also available on the remote. You could normally find this on the top side so as to mute easily when in a traffic junction. Check if this button is jammed. Also check if the display shows a mute , if not the sound reduction could be a different issue related to the audio output. check if any speaker connections are short, or speakers connections touching the body. Chek on the wiring once again with a multimeter , for any shorting, correct positve voltage and good ground. hope this helps. Good day

the brown wire is a cell phone mute . you ;may want to check your speakers and speaker wires for any shorts to ground.

Deh1500 no sound

no mute button, but if there is a short in one of the speakers, wire touching, contacts touching metal, the radio will go in to protect, and you will loose all sound. best way to trouble shoot is to disconnect the speakers, and hook one good speaker to the radio, if you have sound, connect one speaker in the car at a time to the radio, until you find the bad one.

No sound on coming out of speakers and theres no wires touching everything looks like it works fine

Make sure you didn't accidentally hit the mute button.
You should always test sound with a CD, testing sound via AM/FM will produce interference and almost no sound when between stations, also don't to forget to connect the antenna lead.

Check that the speakers are wired correctly.
Check that the sound controls are adjusted properly, i.e. Balance, Fade etc.

Good luck...

NO sound!

disconnect all 4 speakers, make sure the speaker wires dont touch each other...turn on th stereo and re-connect the speakers one by one.. if you connect one particular speaker and it makes the sound mute, then that is your bad speaker, and / or wiring.
