check for a logo that shows a speaker with a cross(X) across. just switch this back. this is also available on the remote. You could normally find this on the top side so as to mute easily when in a traffic junction. Check if this button is jammed. Also check if the display shows a mute , if not the sound reduction could be a different issue related to the audio output. check if any speaker connections are short, or speakers connections touching the body. Chek on the wiring once again with a multimeter , for any shorting, correct positve voltage and good ground. hope this helps. Good day
no mute button, but if there is a short in one of the speakers, wire touching, contacts touching metal, the radio will go in to protect, and you will loose all sound. best way to trouble shoot is to disconnect the speakers, and hook one good speaker to the radio, if you have sound, connect one speaker in the car at a time to the radio, until you find the bad one.
Make sure you didn'taccidentally hit the mute button.
You should always test sound with a CD, testing sound via AM/FM will produce interference and almost no sound when between stations, also don't to forget to connect the antenna lead.
Check that the speakers are wired correctly.
Check that the sound controls are adjusted properly, i.e. Balance, Fade etc.
disconnect all 4 speakers, make sure the speaker wires dont touch each other...turn on th stereo and re-connect the speakers one by one.. if you connect one particular speaker and it makes the sound mute, then that is your bad speaker, and / or wiring.
check your speaker connectiions .who did the wiring and how? if a wire to a speaker is make ing contact with another or even touching metal in the dash .it will cayse a short, therefore nosound will be produced but unit will still popwer up'also check you r mute button you might just have hit the mute function by accident.
