uninstall the yahoo messenger using the revo uninstaller http://www.revouninstaller.com/
remove the yahoo messenger and after removal clean the registry by opening
start -> run -> regedit -> press ctrl+f and type yahoo
all the entries that comes for yahoo delete it
restart the computer and download the yahoo messenger again from filehippo.com
and check again

To solve this kind of network connection in your yahoo messenger, just click on your yahoo messenger, select the connection preferences in the menu and then select the proxy server as the connection preference other than the internet one. then select from either the dial-up, broadband or the high speed t1 lan connection. it's up to you how you connect.

unenstall and reinatall. If that dosent help then shoot it andget a new one.lol I have had the same problem before. Uninstall and do a compleet maintence. Disk Clean, Defrag, Disk Errors..ect and them reenstall yahoo messanger. you can also got to yahoo and donload the latest messanger and update your exsisting one. The 3004 means that your might be out of date and need to update. If you have had this computer sence 2004 or earler you might just be out of date...Good luck.. And if this dosent work i have a Rifle you can barrow.
I believe this problem is caused by a proxy error. Does Internet Explorer connect to the Internet OK?
Do you or your network provider use a proxy? Or a local proxy program such as Privoxy? If no, make sure that Yahoo is set to connect "Firewall with no proxies". If yes, set Yahoo Messenger to use HTTP proxies.
