It is a problem with the printer. Try cleaning the nozzle and all the kinda stuff, it may improve the print quality. You will find all of maintenance for you printer if you go to printers and faxes, right click the printer your printing to and click on properties and then click on the maintenance tab.
Hope this helps and good lcuk!

The printer is streaking black streaks through the copies. What can I do to fix this problem?

If printing from your computer prints clear pages with no streaks, then the problem could be due to some dirt on the scanner bed. Grab a moistened soft cloth and gently wipe the scanner glass to clean it. Try to make a copy again.

Kyocera Mita 2050 there are streaks of toner appearing on the pages printed.

If you send a print job or print a report from the copier and there is no streaks then the problem is most likely the thin **** glass to the left of the large glass. It just needs to be claened.

If the streaks are happening when printing and copying then the problem is most likely your drum unit (MK-410) or possibly the fixing unit (FU-410), the fixing unit is the one that gets hot.

As the drum gets old it can cause print/copy issues and the cleaning blade that cleans the drum gets to the point it doesn't clean the drum properly causing streaks.

The heat roller has a teflon coating on it and as the roller gets older the teflon starts to come off and can effect prints/copies.

The drum unit should be replaced every 150,000 pages and the fixing unit every 300,000 pages on the KM-2050.

I hope this is helpful,
Shawn

Copies come out with gray streaks all the way through the entire page

if you are copying through the feeder check the small glass under the lid has not got any typex or ink stuck to it you check by placing a copy on the glass under the lid and do a copy here.. if no streaks apear then check the glass area.. also if you are printing to it and no streaks appear this area is the cause.. if it happens on teh print side too then you have a drum /dev wear issue and it may need replacing.

I have a BROTHER MFC- 8860DN that makes black streaks on copies

If this is only happening with copies and not straight prints, it is possible that the problem is with the scanning unit. Use the soft cloth to clean the scanner area to the left side of the machine where pages are scanned when run through the page feeder. A spec of dust or other debris in this area will appear as a streak along the length of the page.

If it occurs on all prints, You may need to replace the drum or clean the fuser unit.

I just picked up a 4500n hp laserjet, and it was very dusty inside and out. So I cleaned it inside and out very thourougly. I plugged it in and print the configuration page, the plc, ps fonts, demo page 1...

Most likely the drum is failing. After printing pages remove the drum and see if it has streak on it to be sure (don't bother trying to clean it - if it has streaks the cleaning mechanism has failed)
