Large data transfer laptops, cable, or USB adapters DELL Lat-C

Why my detailed problem was wiped out? Got a BLANK again.
What is a valid or invalid product?
Why my entire detailed description was sabotaged? And this page is now empty?
Why my detail wiped out?

I spent one hour writting (here)(and the page wiped out) precise details for my problem of cable transfering between
2 laptops (up to 36 gigs of data) DELL Latitude C series to HP Pavilion ZE series,
need cable and or software; And second problem: of continue of using HP LASER 2100
very excellent printer (also 25 pin port) to a USB port of any of these 2 laptops, instead
of the 25 pin. Getting another laptop= ONLY HAS A USB PORT, period. A real
disaster. How to print(USB to 25 pin cable or adapter) MY DETAILS ARE truncated AGAIN!
.......Appreciated experts. This should put a smile on your face.

[[[[[ Ignore the 5100cn note above, as it was FRAUD of the computer,]]]]] .... just to defeat the

So I had to cheat "your" computer by entering a fake 5100cn number. the correct number

I spend over an hour rewitting these 4 times details, all WIPED out BY YOUR COMPUTER.

Error code says invalid pdl file

Uncheck the "Enable advanced printing features" checkbox under the Advanced tab in the printer's Properties page. I've observed this causes the print job to fail when I've attempted to print via USB cable. Also, any advice you read that suggests printing directly to printer isn't sound advice. You need to spool your job, or otherwise a large job that does not fit the printer's available memory (buffer) DOES NOT fail gracefully.

Hp 4700 49.3066 service error

49.xx errors are mostly caused by invalid print commands, corrupt
data, or invalid operations. Basically the printer "does not understand" the print job.

- restart the printer to clear the print job from the printer's memory.

-if the error returns disconnect the network/USB cables from the unit and cycle power again.
If the error comes back without the network/USB connected perform a cold reset on the device and go the next step.
- Once the unit is at Ready reconnect the network/USB cable.

If the unit gets the 49.xx error or begins to print a job then gets the error disconnect the cables again and power cycle the printer. This time when you plug the network/USB cable in watch the control panel for any signs of the unit receiving a print job. When the printer says "Processing" press the cancel button on the printer. This should clear the "bad" print job.

I strongly recommend updating to the latest driver for the device Drivers Software . If you had an issue with a PDF file use the Post Script (PS) driver.

Good Luck

Invalid data

try changing the usb cable to 2.0 type... this happen when there is some corruption in the data.. once cable is replaced and still having same problem.. you might need to reinstall the driver and change to another usb port in the cpu.. most cases I come across is due to the cable problem.

Hook Up possible for EPSON Stylus 880 to new computer w/USB ?

There is no conversion cable that you can use with parallel connector since USB transfers data in Serial mode and the parallel cable handles data in Parallel mode.

Sorry.

Dell 948 wireless printer

hi,
u need to have wireless internet connection, first uninstall the printer sw, while reinstalling choose wireless install, follow inst, connect the printer, configure wireless adapter by choosing the correct wireless nw and by entering the security key(WEP, WPA), if wireless adapter not detected then, unplug all cables from back of printer, removed wirless adapter, press power button for 20 secs without any cables connected, connect cables, restart printer, connect the wireless adapter, u will get msg nw card detected, then try reconfiguring by entering the correct keys, in case if u dont know the security key contact ur internet service provider, once correct details are entered it will configure successfully, unplug usb cable from printer and pc, install printer sw, issue resolved, if there is no communication then check the firewall settings, anything relating to printer give full access, restart pc, try printing,

ps: if usb cable is connected to printer the nw card will be disabled.

Canon BJC 2000 question-1284 to usb

The software package just doesn't work well with older peripherals that use legacy parallel or serial com ports. Too many sloppy layers.

THE BEST WAY to add an LPT printer port to your laptop is to use a PCMCIA to Parallel adapter card.
The PC Card slot provides access to the laptop's data bus, and the PC Card adapter easily sets up as a native LPT port within almost any OS.

There is no delay, or connection problems as I've seen in so many complaints about USB to Parallel or Legacy Serial adapters. Printing is Instant.

PCMCIA is a mature standard, and works seamlessly with XP and Vista, and almost any other OS.

PARALLEL is the old standard fast data protocol. IEEE 1284 ECP mode up to 1.5 Mbps.
The BJC-80 and the BJC-85 have the same print speed. The BJC-85 just added USB.

INFRARED is ver 1.0 on the BJC-80, and printing is a bit slower at 115.2 kbps. Even the BJC-85 with its higher IRDA transfer rating and a laptop's built-in IR port, the XP print spooler has problems with it, and can hang if printing more than one page, and especially with more than one document. It will not scan.

I use IR for printing single pages only with either the BJC-80 or BJC-85.
USB to IRDA adapters work fine, and are less expensive $5-6 than
PCMCIA to Parallel adapters, $20-25.

I have tested and used several PCMCIA adapters from different manufacturers, and they all work perfectly as a hot-pluggable, instant LPT and/or Legacy Serial port for my laptops.
TIPS:
After installing the PC Card driver, check Device Manager for the LPT port number.
Install the printer manually from the list of printers, and select the proper LPT port.
Most laptops have two PCMCIA slots. If you change slots, the adapter card driver may reinstall, and assign the next available LPT port, LPT2.

To scan with the BJC-80, you must have an LPT port.
The PC Card adapter also allows the use of the IS-12 scanner cartridge within XP or Vista.
Within Vista, set the Canon ISScan software to run in Windows 98 compatibility mode, to allow use of the TWAIN driver.

Normally it is fro corrupt data or bad cables.

49.xxxx error explain.

A critical firmware error has occurred that
caused the processor on the formatter to
abort the operation.
This type of error can be caused by invalid
print commands, corrupt data, or invalid
operations.
In some instances, electrical noise in the
cable can corrupt data during transmission
to the printer. Other causes include poorquality
parallel cables, poor connections, or
specific software programs.
Sometimes, the formatter itself is at fault,
which is usually indicated by a 79 Service error
