The red "charge" light comes on to indicate that the handset is inserted properly into the base. This is it's normal function. No further action is nessesary. :)

Since you didn't specify the model of your VTech DECT 6.0 cordless phone I can only suggest you enter it into the search box at http://www.vtechphones.com/support/general/manuals to download a copy of the manual.

My cordless phone keeps going out in the middle of a call. I have charge them over and over all night and sometimes for two to three days and they still go out. Can you tell me how to fix this problem.

By going out, do you mean that the phone gives a low battery signal and then you lose the call?

Try replacing the batteries. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of recharge cycles before they fail. If the batteries are over a year old, this is the likely problem. (Unfortunately, some degradation of the cells of the batteries happened while it was on the shelf after manufacture.) Charging the battery longer will only change the surface charge, not the deep charge when the battery fails.

If new batteries do not help, then the chargers may be failing. (I have had the chargers fail.)

If you are having a signal loss between the phone and the base, then check for electronic interference between the two units, move closer to the base or get the base as high as possible.

If you add a comment with your phone model, I'll be glad to give more suggestions.

I hope this helps.

If it's one of the multi-phone units, it needs to be placed in the base/main unit charging cradle to allow it to reprogram to that base.

Take the first phone off from the base and turned of.Unplug the power from the base. Put the second phone in the base. Plug in power in the base. The base must search the new " IP or code "of the second phone. Turn on now the first phone , you should hire a small beep on the base or the unit and should be OK. Both must working now. I wait for an answer.

The phone rings fine but says "Line in use" when you try to answer? It only works if it has been charging for a long time and hasn't been off the hook.

I take it you mean a cordless home phone. You can get a new battery at most radio shacks or walmarts. I am sure this is the problem.

The phone is not charging or the batteries are bad. You will need to get another set of batteries for the cordless phone. Call the customer service desk and tell them that they need to send you a repalcement phone. The phone is not properly charging.

Will not power on without charging cable. Battery indicator full when on charger

Maybe the old battery is not working so you can try getting a new battery
or if you already got a new battery and it still doesn't work then it can mean either the battery model is not right or your phone doesn't support it.

Battery won't charge.

hello,

normally many cell phones requires 6-10hrs for its batter to fully charge up. also i have seen it where battery can be brand new but doesn't have enough juice to hold the charge.
now as far as red light on charger, remember even if you have 99% charged batter and you plug in the charger it will show you red light on phone/cradle.

FYI- all brand new phones are covered with 30 days of warranty replacement with new phone. after 30 days it covers upto 1 year from the date of purchase with refurbished phones.

In your case i think it is just the battery, try having your provider replacing new battery if no luck again then my suggestion will be to replace your phone with new battery with in 30 days.
