Question about Aprilaire 600 Humidifier
We have this Aprilaire Model 600 It was installed about 3 years ago and it is now leaking - we put a 2 gal pitcher under the unit and have to empty this 3 times a day - I can't afford a to have someone come out because we are on limited income and when this was installed I never received a booklet or instruction manual - I need to get one of these - hopefully this is just a minor repair - also I seen something about a filter - how often would I need to change this and would this be causing my problem?

1.check the clamp on the pipe where water line connects
is the hole clogged (water turned off)wont take long
2.Is water flowing all the way to resevoir after turnnig water on
loosen line at reservoir
3.jiggle float water should enter the reservoir inlet to float valevel
somestime cake up,clean float off
4.Remove pump cap clean impeller and standpipe
5.clean reservoir,and close everything up
Usually the hole in the pipe is clogged up in step 1 or the float is sticking if there is no evidence of water in the reservoir

The water is only dispensing over the evaporator pad while the furnace is in the heating mode. When the furnace finishes cycling the humidifier will also stop.
