How can I fix a Sound Storm Laboratories DD405 in dash double din that the volume goes up and down by itself when I hit bumps in the road and the volume wheel seldom works

It sounds like the volume control itself has failed and needs replacement. Sometimes it is just a broken connection where it connectects to the circuit board.

No power up on ssl f2.200 car amplifier

Yes it does. You should be able to use the blue/white wire to turn it on if you are using an aftermarket radio.

MY EV1500M SURGES .IT WILL HIT REAL HARD ONE SECOND THEN IT WILL SURGE AND THE GREEN POWER LIGHT WILL START FADING IN AND OUT

Sounds like your amp is not getting enough current. Did you wire with at least 10 or even better 8 gauge wire? Do you have any type of a capacitor on the system. If you are looking for huge power the cap keeps the power level up when you have those sudden big draws.

Gos in to protection mode as soon as you aplly power

Check for a short circuit in the wiring of the output speakers or a shorted speaker voice coil, also check for correct voltage to the POWER AMP while in use... when an AMP goes in protective mode this means two things A SHORTED OUTPUT or A INCORRECT VOLTAGE TO THE POWER AMP. if all the above is OK than the AMP is defective. are you using correct speakers OHMAGE 4, 6 8ohms??? according to your AMP.

Good luck!

How many volts am I supposed to read at the remote terminal, and is the light beside the display supposed to be on at all times or not? Thanks if anyone knows...

Your voltage reading should be around 12 to 14 volts when operating correctly. Capacitor is a storage for voltage and the power is constant so I am assuming that light will be on.

FUC% the protection light

i had a similar problem with my amp (although a different brand). Check you ground connection and make sure it's not grounded to metal with paint covering it. This is NOT a solid ground connection. You must remove the paint then reconnect it. Without a solid connection to ground, it cant run for very long without going into protection mode. Hope this helps

Protection light

The most common cause for this is shorted output transistors.
