Well..i can give you a torrent link to the driver location. Before downloading the same you need to download a torrent client. Its available free of cost over the net.

TYPE-I Modem Configuration - Huawei SmartAX MT880 Modem / SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem Configuration

SmartAx MT880 ADSL Modem has One ethernet Port.
SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem has One ethernet Port and one USB Port.

Set your computer IP address as 192.168.1.2
( If you are using USB port, install USB driver first)

Open Internet Explorer in the Address bar type the URL http://192.168.1.1

You will be propted for Username and Password.

Username: admin

Password: admin


Click on Home


Click on WAN setting


Your WAN Setting should be as follows:

PVC No.: PVC0

Wan type: PPP

Connection Type : PPPoE

VPI / VCI : 0/35

Default Route : Enabled

Username: yourusername@dataone

Password: yourpassword

Use DNS : Enabled

Click on Apply.


You will be asked to save and reboot.

Select Yes


Once your modem is rebooted , the summary page will be displayed .


The "Green" status of PVC0 status indicated that you are now connected. (in Summary page)

SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem ADSL LED will turn 'Orange' from 'green' when succesfully connected

it's all of because the drives are not support to vista ..u have to download vista supported drives..

Hi!

Do not use the usb port or cable. use the RJ 45 port instead. and configure PPPoE and connect using UTP / STP cable with RJ 45 connector straight crimped.

Unfortunately, Huawei indicates that the MT882 does not function with Vista, and apparently they will not update the equipment to do so. Please see http://forum.huawei.com/jive4/search.jspa?q=vista%20requirements&objID=f46&rankBy=10001&threadID=316039.

I also searched the MS Update Catalog (a huge technical resource) just in case we could find something close that might work. No luck - the only Huawei items listed are drivers for Ralink wireless LAN cards.

Sorry for the bad news, but at least now you have a definite answer. It would seem that you may need to uprade to a new router. Please don't "shoot the messenger" - in other words, we obviously can't do anything to correct a situation like this. We can only provide you with an accurate, timely response. I am using one smatAX MT 882 modem supplied by BSNL for my desk top computer using XP with PPPOE(Point to point protocol over ehernet). When I am trying to run the driver with my VISTA LAP TOP, it is not getting loaded. Can any body provide some solution?
