Not Hot! Hello! We have a Thermos Grill 2 Go gas BBQ given to us as a promo item without warranty info and its been in the cupboard four a couple of years as when we tried to use it it didnt get hot enough to cook a sausage! The flames stayed really small - we'd like to get it going properly, any tips? thanks Alison

My grill to go also doesn't get hot enough to cook on. I have discovered that the thermostat dial needs to be pushed down to get a better flow of gas to come through. Try lighting it without the plate on top when it is dark. You should be able to distinguish when the flames are highest and where the dial is. Mine doesn't line up with the marks but when I push down the top of the plastic dial it lets more gas out and the flame would be sufficient to better heat up the plate. I am trying to purchase another thermostat dial but am having trouble locating a Victorian distributor. Maybe someone may be able to help me with an address to buy spare parts.

Not much more I can say - my problem is the same as the other two people above. I've tried modifying the regulator, but it seems to be down to the amount of gas flowing through the (tyre tube) type of valve within the regulator?

I am in New Zealand and have the same problem however my gas repair shop advised that these machines are designed for HIGH PRESSURE gas bottles and not the ones used in Australia & NZ - we have been well & truly conned into buying these as they will not work down here & the firms selling them need reporting..

We have had two grills that developed similar problems after sitting for a length of time and found that an insect had built a nest in the tubing leading from the regulator. A piece of pipe cleaner up the tube fixed the problem. Can't say if your's is the same problem but it is worth checking.
