Question about Compaq TFT5000 15" LCD Monitor
The unit was working, with a high pitch noise for some time. I transported the monitor and now it just blinks fast when i plug in power supply. The power button does nothing. I actually consider myself a amateur fixer guy and have another non working unit to swap parts. I feel like i have swaped all parts to no avail. What is wrong is it possible the power supply is to blame and not a board level problem?
The problem with the fast blinking power light is caused by 4 capacitors in the power supply unit going bad. We have been repairing this model for 4 or 5 years and this is a very common problem. We have a kit with all of the parts and directions available for $15.00 plus $2.00 shipping. Let me know if anyone needs the kit. firstname.lastname@example.org We can also do the repair for youif you are not confortaqble with disassembly of the ac power unit.
