Question about Toshiba Sony CDXM850MP CD Player
I have Toshiba Satellite A205-S4607 with Vista ,less than 2 years old . I am able to play only certain DVD. If I try to play CD or some other DVD ,I get " Please insert a disc into drive D" even with CD or DVD already loaded.
Thank you for your help

often when a newer computer comes with vista installed.... going backward and installing xp just doesn't work because the new hardware is not compatable with xp.

hi... the problem might be in ur dvd... If ur dvd is perfect and u found that ur player has some problem means the best solution is that to clean up ur dvd player lense which plays a vital role in reading ur dvd when u insert into it...For cleaning up ur lense all u need is a lense cleaner dvd available in electronic shops.. u can purchase it and play that dvd as normal one.. ur problem will get solved..
thank u rate me!!!

Allright this one can be tricky so we need to isolate the problem between software and hardware.
First, get into the bios and see it's being detected.
If not then turn off the computer and unscrew the drive from the laptop, MAJORITY of laptops only need to have one screw unscrewed to release the drive. If yours doesn't then you'll have to do a little more work, let's just assume you have the majority for now.
Next, pull the drive out, feel free to give the back connector a quick puff of air, now carefully place the drive back into the laptop so that it's nice and tight.
Check to see if that solves your problem.
If not we'll try something else.

Couldn't find that specific error code anywhere. However to give more information try this. Try to burn a CD, when you get the error code go to:
Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer then Services and Applications. See if you get an "error" on a particular application you should as the event viewer documents everything that goes on in the system. Let me know what application or file is causing the error..standying by.
