I can't start installer for MacOSX on my Mac. It says "You can't open the application StarterX because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.
You can use the Copy command in the playback menu to copy the pictures from internal memory to a memory card, then copy the pictures to your computer. Otherwise, follow the link below to see whether Fuji has a driver for your operating system:http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_...

instead of using the usb plug that the camera has go to best buy, show them your card, and ask for a card reader
what this will do is plug into a usb port, and it will read the data off of the card, completely bypassing the program

You could try taking the XD card out and plugging it into your Mac

You have to be more specific.
Which os are you using ?
You do not need any software to get your photos from the camera to the PC.
XP and Vista have their own programs for free.
What you need, is the USB driver for the camera, which is on your Finepix CD !
Or you can connect a cardreader to the PC and insert the card into the reader.

I own this camera and I enjoy it. I recommend REMOVING / uninstalling the driver software provided by the manufacturer. After you do this, simply plug the USB cord in from the computer to the camera and Windows XP knows what to do and will walk you through the process. You can also double-click to look under the "My Computer" icon and then you will see an icon for your camera - double-click to open and veiw all of your photos. You can simply drag and drop them on your desktop if you wish.
I have not installed the software disk that came with my camera and I don't intend to.
SOURCE: getting an zoom error on
Lens errors (zoom errors on Fuji's) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

I know how to do that! It is the internal memory card I'm having problems with.
