Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

Washer fills, but when it tries to go into agitation cycle

All it does is make a clunk, clunk, clunk sound and my house lights slightly blink simultaneously. I can manually advance timer to rinse and spin and it works OK in those cycles with the motor running fine. Could it be a switch or a clutch? Also, how does one remove the outer housing?

I have a kenmore washer model 41743042200 when it is in the spin cycle it sounds like a bearing is going bad. Can someone confirm what the problem may be. Washer works and sounds normal in all other...

The washer may emmit a low whisteling sound during the spin. It is causd buy the air whisteling thru the holes in the wash drum. The bearings are not easily serviceable, you can check them by grasping the agitator and shaking it slightly back and forth. If you feel a little clunking then you may need the spin busnings replaced ($15-20 parts and a $80 tool)or a new machine.

To Reset computer. Unplug for 2 minutes, plug back in, open and close lid 7 times slowly to reset computer. This should solve your problem.

Washer won't agitate or spin out.

Well it is ethier Belt, Cluch ,motor ,Or transmission. But it does sound like your transmission . The loud clunk is the brake in the gear case ( Trans.). It might have broken off.
