Question about RCA P46924 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Needs to be cleaned

I have an RCA rear projection T.V. P60750CK. The T.V. has shadows on the screen. I loosened the 4 wing nuts and pushed the rear panel in and discovered cob webs. How do I get this apart to clean the cob webs out?

The back comes off the unit.  Lots of screws.  If you do this, DO NOT touch anything related to the tubes.  Power it off for several hours...unplugged...before touching it.

How to recalibrate scream. Image too wide I loses part of the image of each side of the screen (right and left)

before you think about recalibration or any electrical adjustments . lets review one is the whole picture over scanning the screen did you switch it into a different format like wide screen check that you may want to get the owners Manuel out for the help there. option two . you cleaned the optics now the picture is to wide ? did you loosen the lenses on top of the tubes ? there are wing nuts that set the static focus on the three picture tubes did you move them or loosen the look at which color is over scanning if its all of them then id suspect a format change using the factory remote its simple to switch it back the mouse pad on the remote is the 4 arrows with the center push button by left or right it will walk through those modes . let me know how that works out please .

The blue projection light is off, like it has dust on it. so unscrewed the front screen, cleaned the lights now the red and green are blurry looking. any help ?

You probably knocked or moved the focus lenses when you cleaned the lights (these are actually 3 picture tubes) Each lens has a wing nut that tightens to lock the focus in place if this was moved your focus would be off. Does the blue tube light at all? and when the TV's on is the image clear when you look directly into the Tubes? (the image should be bright and clear -not milky.)

Colors out of alignment and screen bending

the wing nuts you moved are for focusing the lens. more than likely you will need to replace the stk ics in your tv they are located on the signal board with 2 large heat sinks. they should say stk392-??? i do believe it is stk392-510 for sony. all you need to do is replace these and should be good to go
