Lamp won't turn on.

Our lamp bulb is 1 1/2 years old. I have to unplug the bulb and plug it back in for it to come on. I forget what the model number is. I think it maybe xgu 6, I'm not sure. Thanks

The lamp light flashes green for about a minute, and then starts flashing red, meanwhile the standby light flashes green then they both go red. the lamp looks fine, but wont turn on. I hope we don't need to get another one!

That does not seem to do anything. It's like the machine is not responding at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have a sharp xr10x ..........the problem lies in the bulb it needs a warmer temprature for the gas to expand in the bulb to fire and light up... hold a hair dryer up to the side of it fo a while and then fire it up still holding the haidryer up to it till it starts it may take a couple tries... ( this is a fix if your having a no buld startup problem and you know your bulb is still good) THIS IS THE FIX IF**** the lights will blink green for a while then one red and one green then will (shut off at both red) and not restart***

i had the same problem and thought id have to get a new bulb but this is the fix....

Someone else had a similar problem and there was a post to press the power off button for 10 secs on the remote and turn back on. It worked perfectly. Thanks

On my sharp pg f212xl projector when i turn it on i hear a click and the start up sound then i hear another click about 5 seconds later it shuts down and the power led blinks red

SORRY - it needs a new lamp. It is a protection for the projector so the bulb doesn't explode.

I purchase hitachi projectors with 3 year bulb warrenties now for our school as cheaper in long term
good luck

How to replace bulb

Things you will need: 1. Philips screwdriver. 2. Pair of pliers. 3. A new bulb. Note: The new bulb should be handled with care. It doesn't hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lent free cloth before the final installation of the bulb. Steps to replace bulb: 1. Turn off the main power to your TV. 2. Remove the front cover from the TV set. This is held by a snap on. Pull the front cover outwards until the quick snap on releases. 3. Remove the screw securing the lamp cover with a Phillips head screw driver and remove the lamp cover. sdulin.png 4. Remove the two screws that hold the lamp in place. Remove the lamp unit by holding the lamp handle, then pulling outwards.sdulin_0.png 5. Next remove the metal cage by pulling outwards and away from the plastic enclosure, the metal cage should come loose. In the picture below you can see a groove where you can place your thumb inside and pull .sdulin.jpg 6. Now unscrew the scew holding the connection plug in place as well as the two screws holding the bulb in place. sdulin_1.jpg sdulin_0.jpg 7. Now take out the bulb from the enclosure. 8. Next swap out the power plug from the old bulb onto the new bulb. Our pliers come into use here to remove the nut from the center of the lamp. sdulin_2.jpg sdulin_3.jpg
Note: Be careful when screwing in the side connector on to your new bulb. It's best to hand torque here as it is very sensitive and might break with too much torque. sdulin_4.jpg
9. Now assemble in reverse order and you're finished!

In most cases, replacing your projection lamp is quick and easy. However, it is recommended that you consult your owner's manual for more detailed instructions:
  • Unplug your Projector from your power outlet
  • Allow the lamp to cool for at least one (1) hour before replacing it
  • Remove the Lamp unit cover
  • Unscrew the lamp housing unit
  • Remove the old lamp housing unit and discard
  • Screw in the new lamp housing unit
  • Place the cover back onto your unit Caution: Do NOT touch the bulb directly with your fingers.

    Infocus LP725 projector

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

    Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

    I hope these suggestions help
