Can you tell me what you are trying to hook up to the HDMI input? Also, do you get sound or picture, or nothing at all?

All you need to do is get an HDMI cable, plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output of the device you want to connect, then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into any of the three HDMI inputs on the back of your set! THAT'S ALL!
Once you have done this, turn on the television and your device, switch the input of your television to the appropriate HDMI input (using your remote control), and VOILA! The HDMI cable carries both picture and sound, so you're DONE!

Channel cable hdmi

You will need to go into the tv's "settings" menu and change the input label from "Skip" to anything else that best describes the device that is attached to it.
Good Luck!!

I have a 47" Visio 1080p. Tv is always set at hdmi

AV inputs are for standard analog video which is 480i. HDMI and Component inputs are the high definition inputs that run at either 1080i or 1080p You won't ever get 1080i or p through AV inputs.

It sounds like your set needs servicing. Are the other inputs working? HDMI port failures are indicative of a problem with the main board.

I have a Sony LCD television. Model # KLVS32A10. The HDMI input has quit working. Is this possible to fix or would it be to costly.

There are two possible reasons the HDMI is not working anymore. The first is that the set needs a software up grade which would be free from Sony. If the set has a ethernet connection on the back you can do the software upgrade over the internet. The software version the set has is under the support menu of the set. If it does not have a ethernet connection you would need to contact Sony at 1800-222-SONY to see if your set has the latest software version. If not, they will send it to you. If that does not fix it, replacing the main board will. Most of the time it is called the "B" board or the "BA3" board. To be honest with you, Sony's ultimate fix is to use the component cables and not use the HDMI inputs at all. It is disturbing that the technical support has that as a fix but you will not be loosing anything picture quality wise and you will never have the HDMI issue anymore.
Most issues with HDMI is that there are several different software versions for it and there is not one standard one that anyone uses. To make things worse, it changes from one product run to another across all manufactures. So you wind up with software incompatibilities.
I hope this helps,

I bought an hp laptop and a sony hdmi cabel so i could be able to use my laptop on the lcd sony bravia tv. i connect my ps3 as well on the hdmi ports. at first everything was fine. no it doesnt work. i...

if you constantly change between one type of unit to another. say between your ps3 and another type of device then you could have worn the connector on the hdmi socket. it may need to be replaced. thats the best I can do. we have a bravia but dont change connections at all because it can cause many issues over extend use especially if youre changing devices whilst the set is on, as this can interfere and damage the internal circutry which may have shorted out the hdmi circuits.

HDMI stopped working with computer

HDMI connectors are very bad soldered inside the set,not easy to resolder for an amateur ( if you are an amateur offcourse )
Other option is the HDMI cable itself.

Try all of your HDMI inputs, one may be rated at the correct voltage to be able to display the video. The offical part that Panasonic was giving for this was PDPHDMIKIT, its basically a HDMI extender that regulates the voltage. The part is still available online, try or andrews-electronics.

I have a sony pfm-42b1 plasma tv with 2 vga inputs an 1svideo input.. i want to connect my ps3 hdmi cable to the vga input. i purchased the cable but nothing shows.. thanks for your help

you should change it from hdmi to cable. You can do it only on a hdmi tv when you do that you can use it for the pfm-42b1e because i had the same problem too. when you plug your ps3 to a hdmi tv you go to settings-display settings- video output settings than you change it to av multi. After you do that you can use it on pfm-42b1e
