This is a common problem with this printer, it requires replacement of the black developer roller. If you are under warranty (12 months) then Samsung will replace for you. I had mine replaced after 6 months but now requires replacement again. looks like it will be an ongoing problem.

If your printer looks like this:
My Samsung CLX-3160FN prints with - 0aebd04.jpg
Then you need to clean the developer blades. In the image above it is the black blade that need to be cleaned. If there are streaking on any other color, then they also needs to be cleaned.

To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix/ It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade. Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.

I have a Samsung CLX-3160FN, and after every page

Hi,

it is most likely that the fuser actuater arm is not sitting back to the sensor properly. open the back door you will be able to see the fuser, on your right hand side you should be able to see a fliper that sit in between a sensor. try to adjust the fliper flag and see if it works.

if it still continue to give you the same error. try remove the fuser four screw 2 side on each. adjust the flag again and fix it back. it should work and double check for any lose small pices of paper jam in the printer.

Samsung clx-3160fn won't print

Usually I've seen that happen when you use generic toners. There are 4 toner clutches down the right side, with the right cover off you can see which clutch is doing the grinding. Many of the generics are overfilled and hard to turn and will make the noise until you loosen them by hand turning them til they loosen up, or just replacing.

Samsung CLX-3160FN Vertical lines when printing black

This is a very common problem with Samsung CLX-3160 and CLP-300 printers. The real problem is that the developer blades get dirty with the toner. Buying a new imaging unit will only fix the problem for a short period of time then it starts to get buildup on the developer blades.

You need to clean the developer blades. If there are streaking on any color, then also needs to be cleaned.
